I started using my VF 3 wood for the first time this week and I've been striking it cleannnn at the range. Favourite club as of now. I'm thinking of getting the 5wood with the same Diamana blueboard s+ shaft that is currently in my 3wood... but it seems like the tensei shaft is much easier to find. Those of you that have tried both... is there a big difference? Also, any good deals going on for the VPF woods?

 

Unfortunately, I can't seem to hit my VS 3 hybrid... when I strike it like an iron, it fades/slices. When I sweep it like a wood, it goes straight but launches so high and doesn't get good distance

Huuuuuggggeee difference! I got the tensei in the 5 wood because I got a great deal on the club. I hit my 5 wood 240 carry, but with that shaft I was getting 215 with over 4500 rpm. Put a hzrdus red in it and it's now an amazing club. Just depends on your swing profile.

Nice! How'd you get your hands on a RED?

I just checked eBay every day until it came up. Such a nice shaft!

Ha! No one ever told me they had a place when I got started...so I just put them Long to short. Now its stuck and if I moved them, I would be lost and trying to pull wedges from the tee. :blink:

38 inch counterflex B1-01 Origin

How do you like the counterflex model?

 

Loving it so far. The 38 inch shaft allows me stand over the ball without having to bend over my back too much. This makes 3-5 ft putts very easy to roll in! The actual weighting system in the shaft definitely feels different when set on low/medium/ or high. Up to your preference but I would say the putter best attributes are that it has nice feedback and versatility.

I have been wanting to try a driving iron, but didnt want to take the plunge on a $100+ club that didnt work for me (Fly 2 iron, etc.)

 

So I made my own "driving" iron: VRS Forged 3 iron bent to 18* and an Aldila RIP Tour 90 graphite shaft (plays very stiff, the stiff flex was very stout so I went with regular). I will play this over the next week to see if it performs better than my 5 wood and/or hybrid.

Check for coupons first...I had a $25 off $125.00 & that brought it down to $150(+ $100 in trades= $50).I brought my favorite L4V to demo against the TW on their monitor & the TW beat it on all numbers. I sometimes wish I tried the flex too.The TW is a fantastic driver and I love the glued hosel too.
