Just removed the cavity graphics from my vpc irons. They look like pros now. I like it.

 

Did you do anything special to the higher irons with the rzn insert? Did you have to tape it off so the gel didn't hit it?

 

Which product did you use if you don't mind me asking

XCaliber Tour X and Tour X wedge shafts. These are, hands down, the best graphite iron shafts I've ever used - even over Paderson. The mesh is not a graphic, it's literally mesh lining over the graphite shaft.

I went from DG -> KBS -> Nippon -> SF -> Paderson ... almost pulled the trigger on Veylix, but had a run in with Robin. Now, I initially felt that it was a gimmick and he was using his previous status with Grafalloy as a marketing point. After listening to the specifics I gave them a shot.

 

I usually play a baby draw. These are literally point and shoot (which I prefer). The dispersion is undoubtably better than any other iron shaft I've played (and I'm sure it would beat out a Veylix because I did demo them). The launch is awesome, and if you feel the need to work the ball, you can do it in a deliberate way, so that a off plane swing doesn't penalize you as other shafts would. I did try the Tour SL version, and those really didn't preform anywhere near the the Tour X did, but that was for my swing, etc.

I just taped off the rzn insert, ferrule and black pvd with masking tape.

 

Any gel paint remover will do... we have different brands in Australia than you guys in the States.

Those of you with the Vapor Pro Combos in DG PRO shafts, are you guys getting a crazy high ball flight/apex? My coach was commenting the other day that I hit my irons ridiculously high and I should look into a fitting. I know these are flighted shafts that supposedly lower the flight of the short/mid irons and increase it for the long irons but I'm getting crazy heights for all of them. I've never gotten a fitting before because I'm a cheapass who loves deal hunting but am definitely thinking about it now.

 

My driver on the other hand (Vapor Fly Pro in the stock Diamana S+60 shaft) has a very low flight but I believe this is due to my bad form for my driver swing. Still pretty new to the sport (1.5 yrs) so I'm not going to get a driver fitting until I can start hitting it better.

Yeah maybe. I know it's supposed to be a penetrating flight in the short irons, but it's not as low as I would expect. I wouldn't say I'm hitting them too high though. The long irons are as expected to me.

could be you're adding too much dynamic loft at impact. are you on a monitor at your lessons?
