How far south of Boston to find an open course?

Was an nice course, Nick and I had a good time.

We have a 11am this Saturday at lake if isles. They are running a play in April (at $129) get a pass to come back M-Thrs for free.

They also announced the Troon Challenge for May 17th. We are signing up. You and your buddy going to play again ? If so we should try and get grouped together. That was fun last year.

FYI - my course opened today (not an April Fools joke) -- Metacomet in East Providence....I would expect most other Southern RI courses to open this weekend....

I heard Triggs was going to open last weekend but the weather obviously didn't cooperate

I played an easy and mostly dry nine holes yesterday after work at my home course, they officially open today.

I haven't called to verify, but there's a note on the website of Olde Salem Greens in Salem MA that they're opening today April 5th.

Newport National longer, more challenging - but a tough walk if no carts

Falmouth should be enough challenge for almost anybody this time of year - especially if 1st time out

We are driving from NH for a round and Falmouth and Newport are basically the same distance . Just trying to figure out which course is the better of the two Newport is allowing carts tomorrow .

I was in Hyannis today, no snow to be seen anywhere and the course on 132 was open.

Still, I would pick the drive to Newport 10 times out of 10 over anything over the canal and I am only 45 minutes north - go to
National.

It was playable two weeks ago walking it should be in pretty good shape if they are letting carts out (as long as you are not allergic to goose s***).

This winter has been beyond brutal and even though I keep looking not much is open. I've heard Triggs is open for walking only, but nothing else I've seen and nothing in my area (Medfield-Millis-Wrentham area). And now it's going to rain most of the week so even those courses that might open probably won't be able to . Even the ranges are only open in limited areas and those that are open are jam packed. Hopefully it will be a long summer after this very long winter.

Played Newport national on Sunday - no snow anywhere and conditions were fine. Started out sunny and warm enough - but ended up cool and windy. Then started to sprinkle on the last couple of holes.

I can't imagine anything opening up north of Boston for at least a few weeks.

North of Boston still has some snow spots on the links. supposedly Newton Commonwealth is opening this Friday.

I might take a trip down the cape just to knock some around. Can't stand not playing anymore!
