How far south of Boston to find an open course?

Campbells Scotish Highlands in Salem NH is opening on Friday. Have to imagine that will be a little soggy

Meanwhile my club doesn't even have a date. I'm guessing last week in April at best. Fortunately we are doing a family trip to Myrtle Beach over school vacation

Will be interested in hearing if their greens have recovered, they were awful last year.

Didn't get to play it last year... what about the greens was poor?

I would say they were average at best last year. There are usually a ton of un repaired ball marks that really take a toll on those greens. Always seems to be some fungus on parts of the greens. I think they even closed the putting green at the range at one point, I remember that green being in really bad shape.

I called around the southern NH area looking for tee times and seems most will be opening next weekend, 4/18.

Everything? They were just terrible, patchy, rough, nearly unplayable IMO. I know that northern MA and NH had a rough winter last year, many of the courses up that way were in rough shape. It was disappointing because usually they are in pretty good shape, so I'm hopeful they've recovered.

It doesn't help that they try (i'm guessing) to be one of the first to open. Just read on facebook they're planning on opening tomorrow.....

I played The Meadow in Peabody today and besides the wind being brutal(almost always windy there) the course was in surprisingly good shape. Greens were good and starting to green up......there were a few soggy spot and a couple patches of snow around but it was a lot better than I thought it was gonna be. Only the front 9 was open but for $20 with a cart it's hard to beat.

Played Crosswinds today...the course is actually quite dry. It drains very well.

Back 9 at Mt Hood in Melrose, MA opened on Saturday. They said they might be able to open the front tomorrow.

Played at River Bend in Bridgewater Sat. Soggy conditions and greens were punched.
Walked but it was cart path only.

Played Waverly yesterday- pretty good shape and very dry. Greens seem to be further behind than usual but that was expected I guess.

I just got an email that The Oaks in Somersworth is open tomrrow (Tuesday) walking only, and open fully (with carts) on Wednesday.

Middleton Par 3 is open. Recently punched, but it was nice to get out nonetheless and shake off some rust. Able to run the front in a little over an hour. Back was slammed, left after the 14th.

Hit the range for some drives after at Richardson's and more importantly a tremendous Reese's Peanut Butter Cup frappe, it was the best part of the day.

Was at the Campbells Range Sat and Sun. As usual the range access road and car park turned into a mud-fest! They had the short-game area pitching green open on Saturday but closed it Sunday because the Superintendent said it was not ready. Not sure what that says for the 18 open greens on the main course!! From what I could saw of the course it all looked very soggy and dormant grass as far as the eye could see. Hopefully with this weeks nice warm dry weather the course recovers some.

Their range could be very nice if they invested a little more into it.

Played 9 at Wentworth Hills in Plainville today. The course was in decent condition; however, the greens were ridiculously slow.

Played Pinehills Jones course today. The course was in pretty good condition overall. The greens were a little on the slow side. One of the bunkers had snow in it and in general the bunkers were difficult.

Played Atlantic today good shape greens okay can't beat the 52 all you can play special

changed plans for Sunday's round from scottish highlands to windham cc. Will report conditions after.
