What Did You Shoot Today? (Continuation)

Lets me say this is the first year I am trying to actually take golf a little more seriously. I use to be the "punk" in dickie shorts and skate shoes. I always enjoyed golf and working 2pm-10pm I have time in the morning to go.

So that being said. My last round was right at 100.

Made 4 pars. (Which is good for me but im getting better)

Hit 6 greens in regulation. The 6 greens I hit I landed the drives on the fairway.

Every time I do go out I feel like i do at least one thing better. Being 2 straight drives on consecutive holes or a pitch that lands 6-10feet from the pin.

My goal by the end of the year is to be able to shoot around 80s consistently. It's it a big goal. Yes. But goals are ment to be worked at so we shall see!

Played with my Boss yesterday. Had a great day, sun was shining, conversation was lively and my golf seemed to be (generally) good. Walked off with a 2 over 74, which is the best round I've had this year so far. 4 birdies, 1 double and 4 bogies made me pretty happy, with my "best" shot being a heart attack inducing tee shot on a par three that hit the flag and ended up 2 feet from the hole. There was a large competition on at the club and it would have been an expensive shot.

I know where the good round came from and I have monte to mainly thank for putting me in the right direction with his words of wisdom on this board and youtube channel. Now to see if I can reproduce it again at the weekend. (fingers crossed)

Shot 48(+13) in league last night with 19 putts. Hit 4 or 5 into the water again. If I can cut those shots out and make a couple more putts I'll be able to turn in a decent score.

this was my 4th round back after 2 years away from the game (first one where I really paid close attention to my strokeplay score) and I shot a 13 over (playing to 28 handicap, used to be a 27) 111. Started pretty well (first hole double from the trees aside) making birdies on 2 of the early par threes but my game around the loop disintigrated taking a 5 on a 107 yard par three after chunking my wedge twice!! i had some really good points though I putted the best in a long time (2.1pph average which is good for me and only three three putts and one 1 putt) and my iron play and certainly hybrid play was pretty good. My driver and three wood ruined me as playing out of trouble so much (only 30% of fairways hit). Im more annoyed as I know i let a relatively scorable course escape because of long errant drives. Playing partner shot a good 1 under handicap 97. both of us just getting going in our golf again and inconsistency was and still is my biggest problem but feeling really good about my game and know lower scores will come soon.

Two four-putts, four one-putts, total of 35 putts.

Seven fairways and two GIR. Four penalty shots on one hole. One other in the water. Two additional OBs. Lots of topped fairway woods and too many shots ending up in traps...both fairway and greenside. One birdie on a par 5 (acceptable drive, topped 4 wood into the rough, 6 iron, 1 putt).

A completely forgettable day. Even the birdie was fairly ugly.

(Poor) Excuse: Haven't hit a ball in a month due to a severe ear infection that caused dizziness. Not quite over it yet. Should have gone to the range instead of the course.

76. Doubled the 18th par 5 for my only double of the day. 15 pars, 2bogeys, 1double. No birdies. Lipped out 2, a couple misreads, and just needing to hit the ball closer to the hole. I was on fire driving the ball, hit 11-14 fairways, 2 were close, and on 18 I drove it right in the water. Talk about a letdown. Walked off the course happy though.

Wow, quite the mixed bag over 4 days We got back from a fishing trip and had times for Friday through Monday.

Friday - 88 (worst round in 2 years)

Saturday - 79-39

Sunday - 80

Today - 75-39

I finally shot even on the back after a 39 on the front. 75 is the low of the season, 88 is the high, within a few days of each other.

I normally have a "leak" problem on 16-18 when going along well. I hit a horrible tee ball on the par 5 15th, pulled it in a tree, knocked down. I had 360 left in and pounded a 3 wood from the rough to 125, then peeled a wedge to 20 on the back shelf and rolled in the birdie, then 16 which can be a difficult driving hole ,perfect drive, made 4, then made 4 footers for par 0n 17 and 18 (bad lag putts, trying to cozy it in).

The MP's were on today 14/18 greens, and 2 of the 4 misses were on the collar. I was +3 on the box at 6 after a double and played home in +1.

I left the course with a nice smile today.

Note: the Cleveland RTX wedges took back their spot in the bag over the TM EF wedges.

Shot a 10 over handicap 106. Particularly annoying as found 77% fairways on a relatively short course my wedge play was atrocious as they had some very thick snaggly type rough which either meant you got flyers if it sat up or if it squatted down really tugged the ball and made consistency difficult. The greens were much slower than at my home club which made consistent putting difficult. Took 37 putta which is pretty average for me but almost all were 2 putts as constantly leaving it a foot or 2 short.

Hey everyone, first post, figured this was the perfect topic to get on board. Shot a 110 on never played links style course. Rough was relentless as they hadn't been able to mow it down with the amount of rain been having. I putted great only two 3 putts but when it takes 8 shots to get on the dance floor...you know the rest. I usually shoot in the high 90's but today was one of those that makes you you want to drop your clubs out the car on the way down the highway. Still sticking with it though, goal is to break 90 by the end of the year.

Not long ago I joined a new club and so far I haven't got involved in any activities since I'm rusty from not playing for 5 years. However this weekend I ended up playing with the Vice-Captain and he thought it would be a good idea to put in a card for offical Handicap purposes.

I preceded to shot an 83 on a par 72 with five holes being killed by the dreaded three putt, and 8 on a par five after my approcahed bounced off the green into the tree line behind, and 5 birdies, 3 of which came on holes consecutive holes following the 8.

Played 36 yesterday at Fire Ridge in Grafton, WI. We played from the championship tees (6700 yards, 71.5/128). I shot 43/44 the first round, 43/43 the second round. The third nine my putting was horrid. I hit 7/9 GIR with only 2 pars to show for it. I can really feel my game starting to take form. If I can keep myself out of trouble off the tee and work on my putting, I should be down into single digit handicap in the near future. Currently I'm at a 15.3.
