What Did You Shoot Today? (Continuation)

81 today on a course I had never seen before, Eagles Bluff in Clarksville, MO. 38 on the front with too many blown opportunities to count: 3 putt par on a par 5, missed straight birdie putt from 12 feet, things like that. Then made the turn and shot an ugly 43 with only hitting 1 fairway, 2 lost balls, and 1 birdie. Fun day though as I got to play with my dad and I always enjoy those rounds no matter the score.

Little note on this course: this course could be SPECIAL if someone could pump some money into it. Fantastic layout, good clubhouse and landscaping, poor course maintenance.

47 on the front. 3 putted four times! Those plus a couple of duffed shots and it could easily have been around 40.

Back 9 on the other hand was great. Hit GIR on holes 13-18. Didn't look at my score before teeing off on 18 as I knew I was scoring well.

Hit the green on 18 which is a rarity for me, but my 10 foot downhill putt stopped right on the lip. Waited a bit to see if it'd drop, but no go.

Tapped in for par and counted the score to find I shot 40 (4 bogeys, rest pars), tying my best 9 hole score ever.

If that sucker would have dropped it would have been my first sub-40 on 9.

Ah well, as a 21 handicap I'm really happy with 47-40 (net 66)

League play last night (9 holes) I had a 44, which is my best score ever in league play.

Silly thing is I had back to back triples. First on a short par 3 where I hosel rocketed my tee shot into the bush, second on a par 4 that I always seem to struggle on for some reason.

2 over for the other 7 holes. Pretty solid for a 21 cap.

94, (+24, Par is 70) complete bi-polar front 9 and back 9.

Front 9, I was +8. 4 par's, 3 bogeys, 1 double and 1 triple.

Back 9, I was +16 with 2 OB. 6 bogeys, 1 double, 2 blowup holes that were each +4. Holes 11-16 were a complete waste as I was forcing shot and got out of a smooth tempo. 17&18 just told myself smooth stroke and relax. Finished 17&18 bogey bogey but had par putts that burned the edge.

30 putts for the round.

I swear that course just has my number. Always end up messing up a decent round.

Lesson learned, stick to a smooth tempo and quit forcing it.

Competition, back tee, 80 shots.

Started well with three greens hit and a bogey, a birdie and a par. Then golf happened and I played the next four holes in nine over par. A quadruple, a triple and two bogeys.

Then golf happened again and I went one under par for the remaning 11 holes.

I've really enjoyed this cool thread, and frankly I've never done anything notable to post in it, so I hope this is close. My company had it's final outing yesterday, a scramble... 9 teams of 4 each. My team came in at 11 under with a 61, a record for our company. I got both a longest drive and a closest to the pin prize. Not sure why I had to wait till almost the end of at least the company's golf season to play crazy good. Our score card had nothing higher than a 4 on any hole. I gotta to say it was one of the most enjoyable golf days I've ever had.

Played in club tourney yesterday. Played with a 60is year old dude who was like an old version of Wrxer lol. You kno, that old dude that thinks he's Tommy armour III. Multiple times waited for greens to clear on 215 yard approaches and carts to move from 290 out in the fairway lol. The ball never landed within 150 yards of them lol. Just rubbed me the wrong way

49/41. 6900+yd, 73.2/127.

First 7 holes, +7. Holes 8 & 9, +6. Last 9 holes, +5. Shot a 90 with 2 really bad holes. Lots of mediocre short game results. Other than the back-to-back blowup holes (both of which I've birdied before) and inability to up & down around the greens, it felt like a high 70s/low 80s round. Good off the tee, good irons, good putting, which normally is the equation for a good score for me.

Career best 68 yesterday. 6734 yards, 71/129.

Made the turn at 33, bogey on 10 and thought I was going to fall apart. 6 straight pars, then made birdie on the par 3 160 yard 17th after sticking a 9 iron to 3 feet. Went to 18 knowing I had 5 shots to play it safe, make my par and finish with a personal best 69.

I think knowing that I could play it safe helped. Crushed a high draw off the tee and had a great line in. On the green in 2 with a downhill 25 footer for eagle. I lipped out, leaving about 8 inches for a tap in birdie and 68 on the card.

First round with my new Single Length Irons yesterday. Shot 70 from the 7000yd tees at a course here in Warner Robins, Ga. Not bad for an overweight 54yr old who still works 50+hrs a week and doesn't practice. :taunt: All I have to say about the irons is: "Who wants to buy a pretty used up set of AP2's?"

Cuz I've found my new gamers. :)

Played 36 last week. Teed off at 8:00 and done by 12:15. Felt really good so I went to another course and played 18 more

Round 1 - 6931/74.1/135 - Drove the ball well all day and hit 15 greens. Unfortunately, that only resulted in 2 birdies (both tap ins) as I couldn't make a damn thing.

Round 2 - 6840/73.2/133 - Got a little wild off the tee but scrambled my way to an even par 72 (1 birdie, 1 bogey). Again, couldn't make a putt. Missed opportunities ( several inside 6 ft) on 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 17 & 18. Only birdie was a 2 putt.

I sold my putter after that and went back to my Lajosi

Played 18 Sunday but it was the front 9 twice (plays about 6700y). It was twilight at the back was really crowded so I just played the front again. Shot 1-under on the day (38/33)

I went straight from the car to the tee and it showed. Bogeyed 3 of the first 5 holes before getting my S together. Had 2 eagles in a 5 hole stretch which was pretty cool. I went 2+ years without an eagle coming into the year but made one in my first round of the year. Made another a few weeks ago, and made 2 in 1 round for probably the first time ever.

This is my first season back in 7 years. I was once a 7 hcp. I started out the season as a consistent bogey golfer and couldn't get anything going. I've watched and read a ton of golf instruction this year and recently bought 716 Ap2s after my M2s caved on me after one week. I've been trending lower for the last month, but very inconsistent and slow starting (two rounds ago I shot 8 over on the front and 1 under on the back). I've also had the putting yips my entire life and have tried everything to correct it, but to no avail. I changed my putting style three days ago to resemble jack nicklaus' (more feel) .

Yesterday I shot my best round ever of 2 over, with 4 bogeys and 2 birdies.

My putting was lights out and everything just kinda clicked after going 2 over in the first three holes. I put all of the instruction out of my mind and let my skill take over. Played with pure feel. I'm stoked.

I'll probably shoot 85 next round because #golf.

*+2 72 today. Started out horrible doubles on 3 Nd 5 had me standing on the 6th tee at four over . Swing correction led to. Solid Last 13 holes. 3 birdies And 1 more bogey got me in at 72.

Irons are. As good As ever. Both doubles were caused by hooked tee Balls. Shot of the day definitely 6 th hole 175 yard par 3. Smooth 6 iron to about 6 inches really saved thd round
