Got out for 18 at Big Run today, had the course to myself so I got through in 2:15, golf should always be this way! The course is in so so condition as always, the greens were shaggy and slow and today's rain didn't help the cause but I love the holes this course has..I always manage to use almost every club in the bag which is a nice change of pace from a lot of courses around here.

I assume you mean the 9 hole Chicago Park District course on the south lakefront? If so, yeah, I've played it numerous times. It was not particularly well kept, although I haven't played it since the new management took over a few years back. Based on the improved conditions at Jackson Park, I'd assume it's in better shape these days. It's short and tight, with a lot of old trees that needed to be trimmed back.

I generally don't play 9 holes, so I'd go to Jackson Park instead. I certainly wouldn't suggest going out of your way to play it.

I played there for the first time last year and was like 4 over heading into that hole and ended up posting a 12 and totally derailing a good round for me.

It burned me for a week and I went back the following week and did the same thing, this time an 11.

I think the next time I play I'm just going to hit something as far right as possible and stop trying to get cute.
