Heat wave predicted next weekend in Chicagoland - 60s.

I gave Sanctuary a call and they were open for walking only so I got in 18. It was pretty soggy in some spots but most of the snow they got last week was melted. My driver was not as consistent as it was two weeks ago, but Sanctuary is open enough that it wasn't a huge problem. There's a temporary green on 14 but every other green was the same as they use for the regular season. I shot a 76 but could have gone a bit lower. The fact that I hadn't played in two weeks was noticeable. I'm looking forward to next weekend. Hopefully some other courses open up earlier than usual.

No putting green at the practice center at St Andrews. Their mats have longer than normal artificial turf. Almost like hitting out of the first cut. Still, good range!

Green Valley driving range in Hanover Park. They share the same building as Chicago Bills Pro shop. Just put new grips on my cheaters Mr.Gary. :)

Putting greens are nearby the first tee(s), other side of the clubhouse from the range. They don't have a practice green dedicated to the range. Doubt they were open or worth visiting as nothing is growing yet.

Big time shout out to our friend climate change for the fact that the season is going to start about a month ahead of schedule this year. It might be responsible for melting polar ice caps and raising sea levels, but it's great for golf in the Midwest.

Actually there is a practice putting green west of the chipping green/short game area by the shed. It's small in width but probably 40-50 feet long.

You guys have fun this weekend. I'm heading to Carlsbad, CA tomorrow for 7 rounds. The highlight should be two rounds at Pelican Hill GC. Of course the weather there looks worse than it will be here, with temps in the low 60's and scattered showers. Oh well, at least the conditions should be decent.

 

I managed to win two of the charity auctions: Flossmoor and Twin Orchard. Thanks again to the club members for offering up their courses! I'm looking forward to getting out in mid-summer. I'll likely be looking for four players to fill out the groups.

Arrowood, Aviara, La Costa Champions, The Crossings at Carlsbad, Pelican Hill North and South, and Oak Creek. I may have time for an 8th round, but it'll be tight.
