You guys have fun this weekend. I'm heading to Carlsbad, CA tomorrow for 7 rounds. The highlight should be two rounds at Pelican Hill GC. Of course the weather there looks worse than it will be here, with temps in the low 60's and scattered showers. Oh well, at least the conditions should be decent.

 

I managed to win two of the charity auctions: Flossmoor and Twin Orchard. Thanks again to the club members for offering up their courses! I'm looking forward to getting out in mid-summer. I'll likely be looking for four players to fill out the groups.

Got an email that Pine Meadow was open this weekend. Not sure what else is going to open but hoping a few more.

 

Are you going to have the Cally's make their Chicago debut?

 

I think so. I don't know where yet since I have paddle practice in the AM and some Dad activities to fill the voids.

 

I'm itching to play and have Pine Meadow open so I can start working on my short game during the week.

I believe one of the 18's is a shorter course, so I imagine the host would have you guys play the longer, championship 18.

I have friends that are members and play Twin once a year. I would guess your playing Red. They consider the White the ladies/kids course. However, the White has some great holes.

I think the red? Was redone a few years ago by Dave Esler. I played it once and it could have been the most miserable round I ever played, weather wise

 

I think it started sleeting during the backside and was probably 40deg when we teed off.

Arrowood, Aviara, La Costa Champions, The Crossings at Carlsbad, Pelican Hill North and South, and Oak Creek. I may have time for an 8th round, but it'll be tight.

I played La Costa(both), The Crossings, and Torrey Pines North when I was out there a few years ago. TP and Crossings were great. LC is alright. . There's one out east a bit from Carlsbad called Barona Creek that is supposed to be fantastic. It's on my list my next time out.

Exactly. You can hit a wedge with a ton of spin and good luck holding that bas****. Even worse, after your ball goes over the green, you have to leave your chip short of the hole or make it. If you go past the hole you're something that rhymes with ducked.

Epic SZ. Dicks has a 50% trade in bonus on up to 3 clubs if you buy either Epic. Great promo as I traded in old clubs and got it without paying a dime. The downside is they have very little in stock, so even a simple order with a stock shaft had to go through the system.
