Coolest Famous Person You Have Played With

Get to play with Sandra Gal tomorrow at her charity golf tournament in Orlando. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday if I say so myself. First time playing with a pro golfer and kind of nervous actually.

 

So that got me to thinking, who is the most famous person you've played golf with or met?

I have played several rounds with one of the mebers of the band Slipknot, although we went to hihg school together, so not really a big deal to me.

Played in a bunch of LPGA pro-ams. Some of those include Morgan Pressel, Dottie Pepper, Laura Diaz, Lizette Salas, Kristy MacPherson, Karen Stupples, and Angela Stanford.

Non-LPGA, I got to play 18 with former NHL'er Rory Fitzpatrick a few years ago. Nice guy.

I've played with a number of NFL'rs, NBA, and MLB guys over the years, but the coolest experience was playing Riviera with Sugar Ray Leonard.

I've not played with anyone famous. Thinking back, I don't think I've played a round of golf with a woman either. Guess now I have to go play a round with a famous woman

I played 18 holes with Bo Jackson back in the late 90's. I was entertaining a client at a public course in LaGrange, IL and the starter sent us to the first tee. He said if he got another twosome, he would pair us up. Lo, and behold, a cart comes towards the first tee and the driver asked if it was okay to join us. We said sure, and walked over to introduce ourselves, and in the passenger seat was Bo.

He was a really, really nice guy, but at the time, not a very good golfer.

I played a hole with Natalie gulbis at a charity event. She stepped on the tee with us and I took and all or nothing swing, ripped a high draw 300+

I also played with Lamar hunt a few years ago(owner of the Chiefs, 13 percent of the Bulls, and an MLS team.). He was such a nice guy, I amazed at how down to earth he was.

I have a few that were super cool. Caddied for Judd Nelson at the Jordan Invitational in the Bahamas. He was an awesome guy....hit it off instantly as we were both from the northeast. Nice guy, his wife/gf (not sure at the time) took nice care of me as I was sick and she brought me some cough medicine/advil and food to help get me through the round. Then after the two days he got me into the lounge where all the celebs were hanging out and we had a few drinks. Fun times for sure.

Second I played a practice round with Shaun Micheel in 2001 at Doral. One of the nicest professional golfers I have ever met. Was super helpful and cordial during the practice round and I saw him 2 years later in the airport in Atlanta and we chatted for 10 mins. Solid guy.

Played some golf with Briny Baird. Hits it really well. One of the hardest practicers I have ever seen. Super cool guy and had some good times out and about in South Florida.

Played St Andrews w/ Richie Cunningham and his brother; Played competitively against Mark Mulder for a couple of years(after he left baseball the 1st time); Paired with some other sports guys in charity events; Only pro golfers I played with were Wes Short and Bruce Summerhays during a practice round they were playing for a Champions Tour event;


Love the Slipknot one! That would be a cool round!

Lucky guy. When I saw that she was having her own tourney, I said, "Man, if I were in Florida, I would make it happen." I have met Sandra and her dad many times over the last 4 years in Phoenix at the Founder's Cup, and they are both very nice. She is especially nice and engaging with her fans. She is really special. Enjoy!!!!

I really wasn't trying to brag, just wanted to see who everyone else out there has played with or met either on a golf course or wherever. It isn't everyday you get to play a round of golf with a professional, a beautiful one might I add.

If we're expanding the thread to cover famous people on the range, I've hit balls next to Sylvester Stallone, Kelsey Grammer and Fred Couples. All were very nice guys. Freddy spent all of his time hitting pitches into the hillside next to the range.

I had the pleasure of following Sandra around the course once. It was enjoyable.

Agree.. Pippen is a great guy. My son helped run Pippen's basketball camp last summer in Chicago. My son was very impressed with the fact that Pippen gave a lot of his time to the camp. Pretty much all of the other coaches and players my son has worked with show up at the start and you don;t see them again until they give out awards at the end of camp. Pippen was there almost all of the time.
