I once played with the Dali Lama himself, tried stiffing his loop though, instead of a tip he talked about some complete consciousness thing, I don't know, he was a little hard to understand.

Gunga ... Gunga La Gunga.

I play so bad, but it feels so good!

Sean, are you wearing pleated pants?! Come on man, lol.

Seriously though, that sounds like a great day at the course with some great players.
I'm not wearing pleated pants. I'm wearing pleated shorts and they were $15 a pair at PGA SS. Don't call the fashion police.
Pleated shorts? Oh my. Almost brave. :)

Only golfers would consider this person famous, as I doubt anyone else would know who he is, but I played at San Diego Country Club a long time ago with Bob Lamkin (owner Lamkin grips). He gave my a bunch of shirts with the Lamkin logo on them. One of the nicest guys I have played golf with.

Samuel L. Jackson - "I'm tired of these mother f'n bugs on this mother f'n golf course!!!!" LOL It was in Jacksonville when he was filming the movie Basic. My course I grew up on was on the Intracostal and it was sand gnat season...

Grew up playing competitively and played with CH3, Bubba Watson and quite a few others...Funny thing is Bubba back then had a mirrored driver head, I think it was a Ping Zing 2. Anyone remember that club? LOL He played Ping back then too and had Zings of some sort and he had glitter and paint up and down the shafts like it happened in a splatter paint expo...I beat him the day I played with him. Needless to say he wasn't happy with the way he played that day. I was thrilled because it was the first time I broke top 10 in an AJGA tournament...

I played several years ago with John Havlicek at Hyannisport CC with Dick Gavitt (founder of the Big East).
John tells a Russell story.....A man approaches Bill for an autograph....Bill hates to sign...the guy asks one question..."Mr. Russell...what was your thought when you first walked into the Garden and saw all those flags hanging?....Bill stands up, looks down and says.."Son, when I was first there, there were no flags..."

Got paired by luck with Clint Eastwood in 1992 playing Bayonette on Fort Ord, back when it was an active base. Not a pro or anything, but amazing experience with a really nice man.

I played high school golf against Ryan Moore's brother. I saw Ryan all the time at the course, on the putting green, range, etc...but I never got the chance to play with him. This was also back in the mid 2000's right after his incredible amateur season.

That's my most exciting story. Sorry to disappoint lol

I haven't played with anyone famous, but my dad has played with quite a few in the celeb-am pairings at the celebrity golf championship in Lake Tahoe every July. He's played with Emmitt Smith, Jim McMahon, and I caddied for him when he played with news anchor Stone Phillips. We had Aaron Rodgers in the group behind us and since the pace of play was fairly slow his group would be waiting with us at the tee box a lot. I got to chat with him a bit while we waited and he was very cool. He then went on to win the Superbowl that year... I like to think us talking helped push him to greatness haha.

I had only been playing for about six months when I was supposed to play one afternoon with a guy friend. He couldn't get out of work at the last minute so I was going out as a single when an older guy asked if he could join me; told me his name was Ken. Very nice guy, very quiet, really good player who kept pulling cans of Budweiser out of his bag. Drank at least a six pack but it never seemed to affect him.

A couple of weeks later I walk into the living room where my husband is watching golf on CBS, and there was Ken sitting next to Jim Nance. Turns out I had played with Ken Venturi and had no idea who he was.

More infamous than famous, however played two rounds with former CEO, COO & President of Enron, Jeff Skilling, pre-crash while both Enron and DBag Skilling were riding the wave.

CFO Andrew Fastow joined us at our table afterwards for a drink.

Seriously, if I had to get through life by being an Andrew Fastow, I'd kill myself, or my Father would've, because THAT kind of individual really screws up the gene pool if allowed to reproduce.

It was in the fall of 2000, roughly a year before they filed for bankruptcy(12/01).

I didn't like Skilling from the first time that I met him, and it had nothing to do with his cockiness, because I've been around a lot of cocky Individuals, and in certain situations, I could probably be classified as such.

However, he had a certain defensiveness and "shiftiness" that lead me to say to a senior Arthur Anderson Partner, who was in our group, "I sure the hell hope that you have your forensic auditors on this case(we called our client work "cases" versus say "engagements" or "projects")." Plus, when I see a guy intentionally flip his collar up(Both Fastow & Skilling), I wanna rip that collar along with his head right off his shoulders. I keep that side of me buried deep but DBags like Fastow and Skilling bring it out, lol.

He just gave me an uneasy laugh, though it spoke volumes, lol.

That scumbag should rot in jail and the 14+ years that the got is far too lenient and Kenneth Lay got off too easy by dyin.

Pure trash.

And yea, I'm embarrassed that he was born in the Burgh.

Ok, I'm out :)

Have a great evening/day my Friends :)

All the Best,
Richard

I played Penmar with Tommy Chong and his son. I didn't recognize him at first...but I think the marijuana leaf t-shirt was a huge tell. I also played Woodley a couple of years ago with Elgin Baylor...just me and him in a cart. Played my style of golf. I think we finished in less than three hours. He still gets it out there really good....but the worst case of putting yips I've ever see. Had to turn away...couldn't watch. Both rounds were really fun and low pressure. Great guys. Someone mentioned the Lama earlier. All I got to add is "Big hitter...Lama"
