Tiger shoots 85.

Just wanted to chime in my most humble opinion on TW.

I grew up wanting to hit like him and be as passionate as him, not to be him. He alone made golf in Norway. Members lined up to become golfers. It was on TV for the first time here. Even on the news etc. He was so fun to watch. Saw that with a put this weekend when he raised his putter in the air as it went it. Got the chills. Now we`re (Norway) back to the slump with low membership numbers and few juniors to be recruited. And that is with one of the worlds greatest players on the woman side, Susann Pettersen. This game needs a "new" TW with the same passion. Or a new player that can take us on a ride like TW did. Speath is very good but as fun to watch as it is to see paint dry. That is for all players now. If they hole a birdie you rarely see them even smile. They touch the cap and done with it. Fowler and Watson is quite fun :) Justin Rose i like too.

TW is also getting older and the good old swing would be impossible today. His swing needs to mature like his body does. Saw an interview and from what i understood he got his length back so he was pleased. He`s like me. "Yes i shot 85 but damn that drive on 17 was awesome" ;)

My point is, whether you like TW or not, golf is sooo much better with him in it. He will never go back to the good old TW. He will just get old. That said if he keeps playing like this he will eventually lose his card no?

Oh and did i mention about the pressure his under? WOW (world of warcraft?) People expect him to be back like before and if not, RETIRE you loser!!

MHO :)
When Tiger first turned pro his swing, by his own admission, crossed the line at the top of the swing. In other words, the club was pointing to the right of the target at the top and was a bit closed. Without the youthful athleticism he had then it is doubtful that swing would be effective.
There are some, maybe lots, of teachers who think that move is just fine. I don't see where it demands special athleticism, either... Granted, he won't hit the ball as far as he did, but that's okay. To me, less clubface rotation would be a good thing.

It doesn't matter what most teachers think. Most players fight a slice so a shut face/club accross the line at the top is not a major issue.

Tiger fears the hard left miss more than anything. Going back to that swing, which he readily admitted relied too heavily on timing, is not an option for him. Not to mention his iffy left knee which makes it harder for him to stay ahead of the ball and prevent a hook.

There's kind of a weird disconnect in Tiger's pressers. He starts working with Como in November, working his butt off, but then he's following Lindsey. Not a lot of golf at Val d'isere. Then he's back working his butt off, plays horribly, more butt working off, then he's in China. Comes back, more butt work, then he's in Vegas playing poker with Mark Cuban. Playing poorly to horribly, and the butt is about gone. Now, he says he needs more tournament play, but is not playing in his own tournament, which, by admission, is something he needs to do. Today, he's following the steps, but going into the US Open cold, after his career worst tournament performance. So, he is not even following his own advice. No wonder he looks lost.
