Any negative comments on the 907 D2

other than the zipper headcover

I've heard many things about the D2. All were great reviews, except the headcover. Just wondering if there were any other negatives to the 907 D2.

i'm going on Monday to hit both the 907s on an outdoor launch monitor... really looking forward to it...

Came back from demo day on driving range. Tested the D2 app. 2 hours in all shaft and loft combos.

For my swing fits the V2 best. The driver is solid, but did´nt impressed me. Compared to my gamer-Srixon W-506-

the D2 is a bit more workable, has same forgivness, but is a lot shorter!!!

 

Compared to the other drivers I tested was the D2 the best. Ft-5 was not the tour version-too closed face,

Rapture ok, but no wow-effect, burner too closed, burner tp second choice behind D2, not lucky with cobra drivers.

 

Like all the other posts- this is my oppinion, but after demoday the chapter driver is closed. This season my W-506

stays in bag.

yeah. not as forgiving as my current driver. can't manufacturers make a driver that's workable yet distance loss be minimal on toe/heel hits? feel was nice and solid, but nothing spectacular. overall, doesn't do anything that a top line driver from 2-3 years ago (Ping G2 for instance) can't do.

Personally, I havent hit it with the right shaft. I am a Titlesit guy and the one thing that raises concerns is that alot of tour players are still playing the 905 R, ie Zach Johnson, Nick Watney, Jay Haas to name a few recent winners. Just my .02.

i was at a demo yesterday and hit cally, srixon, cobra, titleist.

 

srixon driver stood out the most. D2 didn't feel like anything too special, i have a 905R right now that i'm playing but its on a different level than the D2 - at least for me.

 

srixon overal really impressed me, check it out.

why would it concern you if a few players havent switched from their 905 yet??? The same happened from the transition from the 983k to the 905's. The D2 is the best driver I have ever hit. It does everything I want/need it to do...and it is very long! It is a much better driver than the 905R.

i agree, the other player will switch in time, why would they swicth 1/4 through the season, some players like to keep the same clubs for the whole year, they will swicth come next year

I think the D2 launches pretty high even compared to the 905R. I need to swap out the shaft in mine (Pershing 75x) because I just hit the thing too dang high in the wind. (Going to PM702X.)

 

Great head shape and really hot feeling. Very loud (louder than my 905R.)

 

I played my 983K today. I guess I'm just weird. :drinks:

headcover is the only downside to the 907

it has faster ball speeds and looks alot better than the 905r, sits square and has that solid titleist feel.

as with any driver, get properly fit and it will be a good combo for someone looking for a driver that is workable and yet still forgiving

Working my driver is soooo rare that I just couldn't pass on the forgiveness of the D1. And the D1 sound has really grown on me.
