Fox Broadcast - US Open

Maybe baited is the wrong term. My disgust is with the shock maybe from the booth guys. As if it wasnt plain to everyone his disgust. And the fact that Norman is trying to cover it all up. Saying " next time we come back it will be all new greens ". Really ??? Not before the U.S. Open. After? That makes it ok how ?

I'm know Fox paid the USGA to get the coverage but the way the team in the booth is doing everything possible to justify the greens you'd think it was the USGA who paid Fox.

You are doing a fine job. You keep the commercials to a minimum. The graphics are a nice touch. You have a lot of professionals on staff.

Norman is awful. I've never wanted someone to shut up more in my life. Maybe Hanity. Norman the blowhard fits right at home on Fox. He knows everything according to his ego. He just doesn't shut up.

The only good things about Fox's broadcast is tons of shot tracer and Pavin. I like Pavin as a commentator. He doesn't seem to bring any ego into it like the blowhard Norman.

Only critique thus far today is they should be showing Rory more at the moment. When the #1 player in the world is -4 on his round and is now 4 back on a driveable par 4...how come we then stop the side by side view? Fox will get better but they should be capitalizing on Rory's playing today.

[color=#800080]I find them boring , which is better thans Mike Tirico ands Curtis Strange. I would prefer NBC for their commentators. Holly and that flat screen TV with the interviews is strange. The TV is actually sort of interesting , but to me she is bad. Plus , it seems like she had more work done.to her face.[/color]

That split screen graphics is making me dizzy. I know they hope to see Day fall down, but quit the video game graphics.

I read this a couple years ago. Hate to say it, but you are alluding to part of the USGA's reasoning for going with FOX. Let's just say it's a serious case of peni. . . er, Masters envy.

Also the fans in the PNW have to be the biggest tools.........still waiting for Joe Buck to say when someone is hitting a homerun and the boober interview girl half the players can't even look at. did you see sergios interview with her yesterday, its awful.........

The coverage is awful in relation to sounds and video footage. The tracking and watching of shots. I graduated with a broadcasting and communications degree and the director/producer of Fox sports you can tell is a rookie to this type of event. There is literally a guy behind the scenes directing each camera shot, ok camera 1, get ready camera 2, go to camera 2, back to Spieth camera....etc. Its just awful on all levels and they have endless ambient noises from everywhere, i mean they are using microphones inside the golf cups.

If this wasn't such a huge tournament I would of turned it off a long long time ago. Also I am waiting on Joe Buck to announce a homerun.

Earlier it was bothering me too that they would show highlights of players on other holes, specifically someone (I don't remember who) on 12 after making a birdie and they didn't turn on the microphones on the hole so all you saw was the player silently tipping his cap and waving to what seemed like no one.

I'm not a regular poster but this has been rough. The camera work has been what's driven me crazy. I can barely follow the ball.

For me, Norman has been enjoyable to listen to. I think he's doing the best he can to engage his fellow commentators and provide some "witty" comments/references. Overall, its definitely been very disjointed but I'm still very much into it....

Because I'm a golf fan, this a major and the broadcast isn't as high quality as acustomed to. I'm watching for the result as I do with all the bigger tourneys. ....yet you seem to think "we" have to enjoy this lame effort in Fox's 1st attempt. ....welcome to 2015....social media and internet with instant gratification garnished. People will gripe and moan choosing not to overlook the horrible Foxcast nor crappy greens and then voice/type via Twitter, Facebook or Golfwrx. But we are to listen to your opinion that we shouldn't gripe nor complain even though it's our given right? C'mon Sean...don't be the bleeding heart,tree hugger....especially for Fox!
