He just sent out a tweet complaining about the awful greens at the freak show that is this golf course.
[/quote]

Apparently he has no concerns about cementing his reputation as a little b**ch. I periodically find myself liking/being interested in Sergio again, and he's just such a whiny baby.

If the course is such a freak show, why are the people who have played well this year at the top of the leader board?

How do you explain the rounds put up by Stenson, Johnson, Reed, Martin, Kuchar, Molinari, Dufner, Mickelson, and others who have under par rounds in progress?

Well you can't have it both ways. Had they not watered and kept the greens firmer and faster hitting into them would've been much more difficult.

Montgomerie said some of the greens were terrible and some of the worst he'd played in the US Open. While shooting an under par round and probably his best US Open round in 9-10 years.

I just read the tweet. I must have missed the freak show portion of a rather benign comment. The greens aren't good. You can see on the broadcast on any low angle shot of a putt that they are shaggy and pull of po'.

And if the freak show potion is your personal take on the course, would that mean you're complaining about a guy complaining about a course while complaining about the course yourself? Is that irony or something else entirely?

I'm an old guy, so I don't really get Twitter. If he has a complaint, man up and do it in a presser. Tweeting or whatever it's called seems a backdoor way to express an opinion.

Just because the USGA decided to call the golf course a "Par 70", doesn't make it one. If this was any other tournament, it would be called a "Par 72".

Which essentially means that there were two guys 7 under par another 6 under and a slew 4 or 5 under (including an Amateur).

For a course people are complaining about, it's playing like a Pitch & Putt course so far.

You don't reduce strokes, you are just more "under par". Still two 65s.

I'm on like my tenth hour of coverage today and I don't think I've seen a single putt really knocked off line. They're very fast downhill and really slow up, but the best players in the world should be able to figure that out.

No, they don't look good, but solidly hit putts go in and weak, tentative ones don't.

If you're going to tweet this kind of stuff, you should probably just go home. By tomorrow they'll be heckling him with "crybaby", and he'll be throwing hard looks at the crowd and it'll get ugly.

When the greens are crappy, as usual, at the British, not one European will open his mouth.

twitter is your news source this day in age. 20-30mins before news stations have it, its already been digested on twitter. its the new news outlet....when the SEC is allowing companies to disseminate news via social media, you know its main stream and the source for up to the minute information.

The Open greens aren't crappy, they are slow by today's standards. All 250 year old golf courses don't have artificial irrigation. All golf courses that have been built in the last 15 years certainly do. Brown at the Open is due to the presence or absence of rain. This course is intentionally teetering on drought.

This is a terrible advertisement for the #2 best course in Washington that wants $200-$300 in greens fees.
