I wonder why Joe LaCava quit on DJ? Maybe he knew something that we are just learning? Like, he's stupid and thinks like crap under pressure?

I think it had something to do with Tiger making it rain for him

I wonder how that's working out?

Unseen, in the background, Fate was quietly slipping the lead into the boxing-glove.Β  P.G. Wodehouse

Haha my thoughts exactly! Put your money where your mouth is. DJ will win at least one Major. Probably 3 - 5 if he stays clean.
Then less than 3 it is.

I went to rehab for cocaine and haven't touched the stuff in years...

You can see why I cheer for the guy. Everybody deserves a second chance.

Didn't everyone always say this about Phil? I know I did. Then one day his run and gun gamblin style paid off and the putter got hot and stayed hot. Sure DJ might be more Sergio than Phil, but you never know.

I like the guy (as a TV golfer I'll never meet, that is)

Majors are hard to win. I was rooting for him this week , as my #2 choice after Spieth....But I did think that sooner or later he was going to find some trouble just blasting those drives out there.

I did not see any of round 3. What happened to him? Putting? Trouble off the tee?

FORE RIGHT!!!!

Wedges from what I saw, hit some really poor short shots. Drive up to 50 yards from the green and somehow missing it, that kind of thing.

He needs a professional caddy - not his brother. Someone that can be firm and tell him not to hit shot "X", hit shot "Y" because it's what's needed at the time.
I agree. His caddy has possibly hurt him in some events. Doesn't appear to know the rules confidently. His conversations with DJ seem really weak when caught on audio. He just doesn't seem to add anything to the team.

Do you and TitleistDave have a long standing beef? If not I don't understand how you could be so insensitive of something like that. That's a serious issue. Maybe he shouldn't have told us, but to poke fun at it... :/

I am not OP but I will take the bet. DJ is just another Sergio Garcia. Every decade we have players like him. Close but cant close the door. DJ is mentally weak and mentally weak people don't win majors period!

Second, third, fourth the notion that his caddy brother is worthless. He may actually be a detriment at this point. Wouldn't rule out a major in the future with a better caddy who is more in charge, not just there for the ride.
Have to agree. It's like DJ may just be doing him a family favor or something. When DJ was getting that ruling in a fairway bunker at the US Open, you could hear all the audio, and it sounded like he basically just tells his brother what to do.

A great caddie would go a long way for DJ. Nothing against his brother, but there is a lot of skill and experience that goes into being a caddie, and it shows up in majors especially.

Of all the great characters in Caddyshack this guy could choose for an avatar and he chooses... D'Annunzio.

That's about right. Loud obnoxious douchebag that nobody likes haha.

Jokes aside, I'm not sensitive about it at all. Went a little crazy in college (who doesn't?). Maybe it was too much information but I thought it applied to DJ's situation.

Richard, I remember watching Weiskopf with that beautiful swing and all that potential to be a Superstar back in the 70's. Only 2 things derailed his career plan, Jack Nicklaus' focus and Terrible Tom's temper he couldn't control.

The pressure. It is well proven that humans think and act differently under pressure, it is invaluable having someone on the outside staying calm, thinking rationally, and providing that to the player.
