Mark Crossfield has a "human experiment" going with MP-5 irons. Appears he was so taken with them that he's gaming them now and trying to determine if going from game improvement to better player iron really effects his scoring. Should be interesting....

Could you please explain this? Very interested!

Thanks for posting. Not a big fan of him so I skip most of his stuff. But I enjoyed this experiment. Making me really miss my MP-5s. Think I may go back soon.

Crossfield has a good swing so he'll be fine. If anything his handicap might go slightly down given the increased workability, minimal offset, and things the MP-5 tells him about mishits (losing spin by hitting off the bottom is one I learned to address). He's too good for GI irons, but my concern is that weekend warrior types with - I don't know, XRs and Rocketballz irons - will see any improvements and think they can do it too. The guy bashes balls whenever he wants and can use trackman to analyze every aspect of his iron play. I'm sure Mizuno is giddy with this and Wilson has to be annoyed since he loved the FG Tour 100s, though viewers will probably go back and see that gush fest (I'm paraphrasing here but, "Wow, a 47 degree pitching wedge. What a classic club. And I can control the distance so well too.), but I don't see the average Joe's handicap going down because of this "human experiment."
