If the TM1 shaft is in a 460 head I wouldn't bother. There's no difference between the US/JDM 460 heads and the TM1 shaft is nothing special. Maybe your Dick's could get a SLDR with the Speeder you're looking for from another store?

It's actually in a Tour Preferred head that's why I'm wondering. I'll probably pick it up and toss one of the other shafts I have in it since the stock one seems to be a POS

If you talk nice to the clerk at DSG, he will probably let you put the JDM real deal shaft from the 460 head into the 430TP head and sell it to you that way. Or am I missing your point?

Yeah that's what I'm considering doing. The old guy who works there didn't have much of a clue as to what the shafts were about and was more focused on moving product no matter what.

It is definitely worth asking. From his point of view, it's just stock of equal value. I've done it a PGASS in the past, when they didn't have the shaft/loft combo I wanted in stock, and they had no problem with it. I don't see any reason why Dick's would not do the same. Good luck!

Dude, I got them to accept an expired $20 off of $100 coupon that you can't even apply to sales or taylormade products in general.......

Guaranteed even with minimal oratory skills you can get them to switch the shaft based on a sale riding on it....and while you are at it, try to get yours for $158 tax tag and title like I did mine!

I tried for about 10 minutes yesterday. Got a manager involved. He said if I want to have a different shaft in it, I can buy one and they will install it.

Something tells me the managers aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. What would prevent someone from buying both then switching shafts in your car and then walking back in and returning it or going to another DSG and return it there?

Most of the people who work there and do returns don't know much about golf clubs. They tend to not check on details like that at the ones near me but all are different.

It is dicks for gods sake, just go in their and make the sale hinge on it....again, I got deal and $20 off coupon....that doesn't apply to sales or TM products...becuase I said I had a sports authority coupon and I know they take them and I was just going to go there and get the club becuase it doesn't matter to me and I will drive 5 min for $20....done deal. If you can't get this driver with a shaft switch or coupon applied buying cars must be a nightmare...just go in and dictate the sale.

Crap, I am so hitting this....I really wanted to flip, but everything people hate about sldr I feel wouldn't bother me. I want low launch and spin and I don't miss driver generally and I even like to tee the ball lower for drives...

Mine cracked I had one range session and was hitting it great maybe that's were the muted sound I talked about came from. I played yesterday and did not hit it particularly good but it still had a muted sound decided to bag it for the last 4 holes and go 3 wood. This morning I took my clubs out to clean them. I pulled the head cover off and some of the fabric from the sock portion got caught in the Crack on the heel side of the head that's how I noticed it. Then I ran my finger over it and noticed that the head was cracked. It was right on the sole were the head and the sole meet on the heel side of the club.it was about 3/4 of an inch long. Took it back to DSG and they are getting it replaced. Luckily I'm not playing for the next 2 weeks or so. We will see what the out come is. Not sure if it will take Taylormade long to replace it since it is a jdm model.

I did see a JDM one come in with a chip in the leading edge. Totally confused me that that could happen to a driver but after seeing how the owner swung, made perfect sense...

Found the 460 with the GoGo. Tried the 430 with the 757 and didn't care for it. The 661 would probably suit me better.
