Favorite PGA Tour Swing of All Time?

I like those that were most repeatable with the least effort. Bruce Lietzke and Steve Stricker come to mind as those that did not have to play or practice every week and could come to an event and do well.

Compare a younger Sam Snead to ANYONE and you will see. I'm not tech savvy enough, but maybe someone on here can put a Snead swing video and a Tiger, Rory,Couples, whomever video side by side for all to see.

Sam Snead and Mickey Wright. Snead always thought staying flexible and supple was the key to his long career. There is a famous picture of Snead well into his 70s kicking a ceiling and tops of door jams. Don't think today's weight lifting players are that flexible.

Tom Watson should be in this conversation, still can light it up. My favorites on the range Arnold, Jack, Tom W.,, Greg Norman and Tiger- didn't need to look to see who was hitting, you could hear it.

Jason Day swings beautifully too.


George Knudson had a gorgeous swing and tempo, walked the course with him during practice round - he always wore shades, way before oakleys.

My favorite swing to watch was Gene Littler. I'm old enough to remember watching Gene Littler on the CBS Golf Classic four-ball matches (BTW, why aren't these on Golf Channel?) in the late 60's. Loved the fluid motion. He preferred not to be out playing but rather at home in LaJolla tinkering with antique Rolls-Royces and such. Was a very strong amateur and, at that time, was apparently MUCH BETTER than Billy Casper.

Worth noting was that, after losing most of his lat muscle to cancer, he was one of the first to test Aldila graphite shafts. This was back when there wasn't any shaft-to-shaft consistency and balls literally went everywhere!

No one has mentioned another favorite of mine, Jodie Mudd. He didn't play a lot on tour either, preferring to tend to his horses in KY. I regret not having been aboard when a former employer did some equipment tests with him (before I worked there). He won the US Publinks back to back in '80-81 and had a career year as a pro in 1990 with the Players and Nabisco victories.

Someone mentioned George Knudsen and said 'short knocker'. I seem to recall that he was pretty long compared with his contemporaries.

Tommy Aaron, 3 tour wins including the 1973 Master's. Later made the cut at the Master's at age 63 (2000).
He was known for his beautiful effortless swing.

So I haven't read the entire thread, but from what I saw, the greatest golfer Jack Nicklaus, wasn't mentioned. Makes me think is more about the "game."
