Did someone lose a foot at TM? Why would they quit counting at R15?

It does not show anything exists. I place this in the same category of all the future Apple product rumors. Most all of them prove to be wrong. When there is something concrete (like a R16 headcover with proto written on tape from a bag in a Taylormade location) then there is something to post and start discussion.

Smh... at the haters and the super loyalists. It's still summertime, get out and play some more golf while you have the chance. Save the new product jokes/bickering for the winter months.

I get what you are saying Chilli. I would tend to agree, but I don't sense that the IG is anything more than a stunt. It remains to be seen. In more ways than one.

I doubt the glued hosel, but I'd guess they ditched the slide rail. Back to the old r7 movable weight pattern?

That would be great.

Give me an r7 460 with the adjustable hosel and current shaft options, and I would...

Well...

I would probably still stick with my G30 LS, but it would be a great club! :D

M whatever sounds better than R16 etc. Ground floor the thing and start a new tech cycle. Must admit though that I feel they are already at their performance design limit, it's just aesthetic concerns now.

What is this visible tech? Just like a space port ?
And dual sliding tracks..maybe to change the CG?
We can't go any farther forward so let's go back again
Without going into too much techy talk. Its about the neutral axis and weight location is the biggest issue here when trying to achieve this according to Cobra. So if you look at what Cobra is doing with the "King" model, I would assume Taylormade is on the same path and giving you more options and technology than ever before.

New Bag in the making...

Not sure what has changed, but it's been 8 years, so I'm guessing my swing is quite a bit different now.

I remember taking my Dad down to the TaylorMade Performance Lab at Aviara, in Carlsbad to get fit for new drivers as a Christmas present. They put me into an 8.5* r7 460 with a YS-6+ Stiff (heavy weight in the heel), and that club was amazing! I still have it... lots of good memories attached to that driver. I eventually went to a ProForce V2 76 S, so that's what it's shafted with currently.

My last driver fitting (Cool Clubs, Irvine) put me into a 9* G30 LS head (set to 10*) with an AD-MJ 6X. I have more confidence in this setup than I've had in anything since the r7 460.

Both are fantastic setups for the swing they were fit to. 8 years is a long time. New decade, new tech, different swing, I guess.

How the time flies...

First, cut the name calling. There is nothing wrong with calling out someone that is starting a thread as placeholder for a product that does not exist and the only thing that talks about is because someone posted something on Instigram that has no facts or validation with it. And based on replies and likes, there are others that agree with me. You start it when there is something to report and inform. That is my opinion and I am allowed to express that as long as I am civil and not insulting towards someone.

MGS says the M1 exists, so you can choose to believe them or not: that is up to you. I don't see a problem starting a placeholder thread where interested parties can hypothesize about the design or talk about what they would or would not like to see. If you're only looking for hard facts then wait until WRX posts the hands on with TM's next driver. There's no reason to argue about the validity of a thread which nobody is obligated to read nor post in.

There is already a thread to discuss this and all other upcoming Taylormade releases under the title Taylormade 2016. This discussion belongs there. The OP started a thread with a title claiming it is "OFFICIAL", all they did is put the word placeholder, and has contributed nothing since. If they left out the word "OFFICIAL" and put something informative, even if it was to say it was a placeholder for an upcoming event they are reporting on, then OK. So I am voicing my opinion that there was no reason for the OP to even start this thread.

Wow TM Hoyer. A little sensitive and irrational are we?
First, thank you for using my user name instead of trying to insult me. Ok, how can you justify the OP starting an "OFFICIAL" thread and just saying placeholder with no information on why they are creating the placeholder and nothing to indicate why it an "OFFICIAL" thread. And just because they wanted to I do not feel is not a valid reason. There are others that feel the same way as me, so it is not me that is being sensitive and irrational.

The OP wanted a thread dedicated to the big ticket item, the M1...without having to sift through a bunch of posts about the rest of the line. "Official" just means "Main" in board-speak...not an Official TMaG statement.

Nothing wrong with that, I'm not sure why you are taking issue & trying to derail what is an inevitable thread.
