What I don't understand is the high retail price compared to the baseball cleats. They are almost twice the price. I would think that they would cost similarly to manufacture.

I would guarantee that Nike Golf are driving the creation of this shoe. Yes, its sharing the same tooling (bottom unit) but I would bet a considerable amount on the golf business getting permission from the Jordan team to build these and sell. They're not nearly as separate as one would think. Take a look at things like Nike Training or Running and how the same exact styles in different materials and colors are used for Nike Sportswear, for example. The same is true of Nike SB. Jordan is essentially a business unit with a different name that happens to have a different logo. All part of the same company...
