If any of you actually believe that you can constantly add distance and forgiveness with every new rendition of a new TM driver, you are all delirious. I am retired and have hit every new club on the computers found at all your golf stores over the past 7 years. My conclusion is simple. Unless your swing faster or hit the driver more in the center of the face, these new drivers that are introduced every year is all marketing hype! Sure, you may find a driver that feels better or when fitted to you may reduce some backspin or straighten our your shot out some, but for $500, I would suggest some lessons. You will be amazed by what distance can be gained by a PGA professional improving your swing with a few lessons.

Now for the looks of the M1 driver. Personally, the R1 and R15 are much better visually. The M1 looks too busy and stubby for my use. Perhaps it is meant to look like the tank the M1 may signify. Carbon fiber was introduced by Callaway 5 years ago so maybe TM is running out of ideas for their drivers.

I think someone needs to bring out a driver with a gyroscope built in the head and a krypton face. Then you will be able to swing it with center hits every time and the krypton face will give you true planetary distance. TM could call it the Next Galaxy driver.

After my very-very disappointing SLDR 430 experience ...... I won't touch this one with a 10ft pole!

To bad it's not all black, not a fan of the white/black look. It will be interesting to see if it's more forgiving than the R15/SLDR.
So I guess the people at Taylor Made couldn't decide to stick with the white, or the anti-white golf people who wanted something else. Someone at TM had a great solution; let's just do both on the same club and make it ugly.

I would have been fine with the all black carbon fiber on top. The bottom is ugly and cheap looking also, but on the plus side you don't have to look at that part when addressing the golf ball.

It'll never happen. A gyroscope would make the club non-conforming.

Driver looks great, not a fan of white but it looks sharp with the CF. (must be a car guy thing).

I do agree the face looks different (very Adams 9064 like with the squarish bottom toe).

I'll give it a whirl and reserve judgement then. I actually like my SLDR430 so should be interesting to see how this plays.

Oh man, that 430! If they had a black version with that carbon fiber.. :alcoholic:

Gotta think something can be done

I was thinking or a Red crown, black carbon fiber... Might, just might be better looking than my CT 2.0 and if it out performed might find its way into the bag... Glad it is not in Red or I'd have to explain why I need another driver to the wife, lol.

Nice looking but it seems that this club is just a combination of things that have been tried before, by either TM or other manufacturers. And who can afford to pay $500 (assumed) each year for a new TM driver? Not sure how they can constantly say that each and every club they make is the longest yet with a straight face too. I think TM needs to move to a 2 year club cycle if they want to prevent becoming a joke (which a lot of the comments already are). Not my type of club with all the adjustments I guess.
So right now I can get quality clubs made by taylormade a few months down the road at reasonable prices due to their product cycles...

Or in your scenario they follow titleist and ping and I pay more cash?

Uh... I think I'll stick to the current situation.
Their stuff preforms. Overall? It performs.
Find a model you like & for a low price get a new club.

I don't get the ultra boring repetitive statements on how horrible & embarrassing it is that Tm puts put frequent releases of the most played clubs on the tour (planet).
Im NOT a fan of the super fast release cycle and am a huge fan of titleist and NOT of taylormade stuff in general....BUT you make a very good point, sharktank.....I've never really thought of it that way

If you buy based on moi go buy a G30 and enjoy being the shortest driver out there!

This year you are optimizing launch and spin like any other. Why would loft matter if you are trying to reach certain launch conditions? Who cares wtf a company says about loft the optimal conditions NEVER change.

So what did they do with the weight saved with the carbon crown on that 260 cc head?

The answer is nothing - and that thing felt HORRIBLE at impact
