people at taylormade, if you are reading by chance, please include few different sets of weight in the kit.

having 2 weights in the heel to toe track ala R15 was a definite improvement over single weight SLDR style IMO,
and i would very much prefer to split the 15g weight into two pieces and increase the MOI, and others who prefer to keep it SLDR style should have the choice to do so.

make it happen and i will buy this driver in a heartbeat!
im stoked to try this driver out for sure.

That's why there is a rear track. That alone will improve your moi!

I think the M1 is the best looking driver TM has put out in along time. I loved the Ping Rapture and the Cally FT3, so I am liking the carbon fiber part of the M1 head. It looks easy to line up, and just looks like it's fast. I'll be getting both the driver and 3 wood upon launch on day 1. It's the first driver I've been excited about seeing released by any company in years.

Oh another release cycle joke. Innovative.
No kidding. What is the problem with some people. You'd think by the way they bash and mock TM every chance they get, they've got some kind of personal vendetta against the company.

Don't like the M1? Don't buy it. Nobody cares what you think of it or why you hate it.
Or why you like it or what you think of other people and their post for that matter.
In fact, why don't we just close the whole forum down on the logical premise, therefore, that nobody is ever interested in what anybody else has to say! :derisive:
Exactly .. Nobodies interested in what anyone has to say about anything and no one is entitled to say what they think anyway ..... so...Problem Solved! ... Never have to read another single post you don't agree with!!! :)

You're free to give your opinion. Still doesn't change the fact that nobody cares what your opinion is of the M1 or TaylorMade's business practices.

yeah, but that means you cant have the low/forward CG. having the two weights front is a way to accommodate the low/forward CG and maintain higher MOI...
not to say that you are wrong or anything, the more adjustable, the more swings the club can handle.

i could be wrong but having three weights with over 10g each would be too heavy, and that might be why they shy away from two weights in front track,
hence the suggestion for the lighter weight kit option. it would be nice if they offered different weight kit straight from TM, not aftermarket weight, some people want shorter shaft while i would prefer 45.5 or 45.75 and still keep the SW around D2.

Weight is an issue. they saved 10gms or so from what is being said. Splitting 2 7.5 gram weights will not increase moi as much as moving the weight back is what it sounds like.

TM had different weights for the R15 so I am sure they will continue.

What's the next version......to add a Mizuno-like sliding weight around the backside perimeter from the toe around to the heel resulting in 3 sliding weight options?
No, they won't do that. As Mizuno quickly discovered, it didn't work very well.

Callaway doesn't seem to agree! I've never gamed the Big Bertha, so I can't comment on actual playability, but clearly someone does still believe in the tech.

I like what I see, it is a logical progression, but nothing revolutionary. It seems that the constant flow of stunning innovation has slowed in the golf equipment industry, and that the talent has been spread out equally between the major OEMs. Callaway, Cobra, TaylorMade all have innovative takes on Low CG, Low spin drivers, and the best news has been the plethora of quality shafts at no up charge.

The thing is, this is not TaylorMade's most important line of clubs for 2015/16. It will be the AeroBurner replacement. The most important category at retail is the $300-$349 driver market and its corresponding fairways and hybrids. Callaway and PING have been killing this category eating away at TaylorMade's market share. Callaway saw this and continues to introduce multiple models, yet doesn't flood the marketplace at the top end. TaylorMade needs to do the same thing. Make the $500 driver just a little more limited, and mass market a driver in the $349 range, and still offer a big box glued head at $249-$300.

(Prediction, M2 will have three weights and maybe a head cover that protects the shaft)

I'm not sure why everyone likes the PING/Titleist release cycle either. No other consumer goods company wait that long. Titleist still makes their business on golf balls, and PING is privately held.

If that is what you want to do, simply move the rear track weight to the front track and then split them apart. It will be slightly biased toward fade or draw since one is 15 grams and the other is 10, but would still accomplish the goal of moving the CG forward and increasing MOI.

I'm wondering if this would be a good option for those that want to cut 1" off the butt, down to like 44.5", then add In a second weight on the front track, for 3 weights total. You get the shorter (read: normal length shaft) and can get the added 3rd weight to bring back up swingweight. Interesting, would like to see how that would play out in reality.

Should work perfectly, and if my memory serves, cutting 1 inch from the butt end would decrease the SW by 6 points. Adding 2 grams to the head increases SW by 1 point, so you'd basically want to add one of the R15 (12.5 gram) weights to get it back to the stock SW. Optionally, you could use 3 of the R15 weights for a balanced distribution.

Can I ask why? If you read here that someone won't buy a driver because it's ugly or because he hates TM's release cycles, why should that influence your decision making in any way? Or are you just one of those people who cares about what other people think about your purchasing decisions?

Trust me, nobody's looking down on you because you play a TM or a Ping or a Titleist driver. That dubious distinction is only reserved for those who play the HAMMER X. :)
