I'll be the guy to bring up the skeleton in the closet. Some guy with the initials TW was going to play in this event. Many on here complain that if he plays too much attention is on him and the threads become about him. Here we are, three rounds in, and not even past the first page yet on the tournament thread with replies? It's a pretty decent field and a whole bunch of guys within a couple strokes going into round four. Flame away. Guess we need more needles. :)

The guy Varner III looks like he has some game but spitting on the tee, no thanks!
He had it goin on til the 18th. green.
If you insist on doing it I can deal with it but no one should have to deal with on the tee or even worse on the green! It's nothing but disgusting.

great tournament so far.
Yes, a pretty good start to the new TOUR season, with 16 guys within four of the lead.

Emiliano Grillo is carrying over his fine web.com play right into his debut as a PGA TOUR member. I hope he wins this thing, although a Justin Rose "W" would also be cool.

Golf broadcast is on later in the day here in the east. Too many good NCAA games on, plus MLB playoffs going on.

I like it. He has great balance, with a lot of speed through the impact zone. He tends to get a tad quick at times in the transition, but he has a good feel for what he is doing.

I think Patrick's short game and putting are the keys to his success. I expect a long, steady and fruitful career from him. He's a smart guy, and his attention to detail (the little things) will serve him well.

Tomorrow's final round at Silverado is not likely to produce any earthshaking results, but a come-from-behind maiden title by Patrick Rogers would be pretty significant.

I watched about 5 minutes of this today. It was like watching a Hollywood B Movie. Even the 3 spectators who paid to attend this tournament looked bored.
You made that observation and came to a conclusion in 5 minutes? :swoon:
Normally 4 back would sound like a lot but with the 7, 8 and 9 under rounds today it seems anyone in that 16 could walk away a winner tomorrow. I like events like this. Shows just how good the other guys on tour really are. #These guys are good

This. You have MLB playoffs, NCAA football and NFL football all day Saturday and Sunday and then the NHL is fresh so people may be checking that out as well later in the day. It's just awful timing to compete against all of that on the weekend.

It really is amazing, isn't it? If Tiger were playing this week this thread would have 400-500 responses. Meanwhile, former world #1 and 2-time PGA TOUR Player of the Year, Rory McIlroy, sits t36 in the final round, and has drawn exactly zero interest.

And you're right; the field this week is pretty decent, with a lot of potentially cool (if minor) storylines. Perhaps Finchem and Co. have oversaturated the market.

Yeah, I'd love to see Finchem take it on the arches.

when 85% of the post count inflation is due to a repeating play-by-play of the same putt it tends to dilute the thread. just my .02

Damn just lost a sponsor...I hope it's not a trend.

Fortunately, there is always someone else just waiting to throw some money around. :)
