To GOLF WRX: Less than 36% of the golfers who keep a handicap are 10 or below. You want tester only 10 or below.
That leaves the rest of us (64%) with no idea what these drivers will do to help us and how the fitting could improve us.

So how are the people who drive 180 - 230 yards suppose to analyze the data. Does a golfer with a swing speed of 87 - 97 really get to see how this technology helps us?
FWIW, my driver SS is about 97.

Guys, remember the Superbowl is Feb 7th!

You have not sent in an email yet???? Not interested?

opps... just saw it :blush2:

Since the average temperature in Ypsilanti in February ranges from 15-32, what impact will that have on the numbers? Heat the balls to spring temps? Probably more than typical spring attire may also impact repetitive swings. Assume it will be conducted from the typical track man outdoor set up with overhead gas heaters and the little garage door that opens for the session in the individual fitting bays. Hopefully it will be a mild snow season for the local commuters. Years of working for GM that was often a miserable commute from Birmingham to Ypsilanti. Maybe repeat a few of the "better" drivers in warmer weather for comparative purposes. Certainly a noble undertaking.

I heard Golfwrx built a 400yd indoor golf facility just for the gear trials. Heard it makes Dallas Cowboys stadium look like a roller rink. True story.

Heated premium balls. But we need to have some good luck. I have been in the fitting bays that are heated on frigid days and it is tough. It is what it is.

The balls will be one hit and gone. Bringing in over 3,000 balls for the event. Bob... email me would you? [email protected] ... I wouldnt mind your opinion on something as well as a celebrity appearance perhaps????

At the MOG in Fairfield, they roll out those free standard heaters for demo day stuff. They crank out some serious heat. But.....gonna need some luck too.

We have not invited the out of towners yet. The WRX team (mods and writers) are talking about that list now. We are looking for highly active and member respected guys to come out. There are obviously many of those so we will have a long list and at some point have to make a tough choice.

I did a driver fitting on Jan 24th of this year and it looks like the high for the day was 32*. I remember being hot wearing a short sleeve polo. Also, it looks like Trackman can normalize the temperature and wind (ball doesn't travel as far in the cold dense air right?) according to this sentence at the bottom of their reports.

"Note: Data are normalized to no wind conditions at 0 ft altitude, 77 F with a Premium ball."

Not sure I understand the question.

We are going to use premium balls for the testing. We have asked for enough to handle all the hits.

I meant to ask if you will have a variety of premium balls so that each tester can hit their ball of choice (Srixon, TM, Titleist, Bridgestone, Nike etc) or if you will have, say.. All Titleist? Either way it doesn't matter I suppose. I understand it is not a ball testing trial.. Curiosity got the best of me so I thought I'd ask because I have seen quite some fluctuation in numbers depending on the ball I hit when using trackman in the past.

I suspect that it will be the same ball across the board. No reason to add variance.

Too long of a story to type. Lol. I appreciate the response though. Short version is I can't get away for more than a day. And flying there and back isn't going to work anytime soon. If it were drivable say Atlanta Charlotte 1-2 hours from me I would stop time to get there and participate. But that being said it's a great idea. This

Look forward to seeing how it goes this year. I like the new logo as well.

Rediculous how it's just assumed and for certain that he will be invited
How do you know Pure745 and/or J13 have been selected for this? Those responses, to me, simply state they are excited for this new concept.
Seriously, thank you Knudson! I have no interest in participating in this, and even if I was considered, I would like my spot to go to another WRX'er. It's guys like Boyd who troll other members and have really made posting on here brutal.. to the point where I only post in my WITB thread, and even that less and less. Unfortunate, but reality these days.

Interested to see how this all shakes out, good luck to Richard and the team, I can't wait to read the final results :)

I know Pure, uncalled for. I, and 99% of the members, know you would do a great job reporting your findings to the rest of the site just like you always do. I personally know J13 and have followed you for years, so I know you two would kill it if you were picked. I agree that guys like that drive great members away and that is just sad.

I hope I am picked, but if not I will be following closely to see all the results! Going to be very, very cool.
