I've been using a Ben Hogan CS3 since I bought it in 2004...most consistent club in my bag.
I have one of those I got new about the same time. I still have it. It is now the #1 back up. If I did not have the driver I have now it would probably still be in the bag. Those drivers are one of the unknown jewels

still using the R9 just haven't found anything better for me.
I still have that one I got free and still experimenting with it. I did another shaft change on it last week and have not had a chance to hit it any. It is really an inbreed now. I found a left handed GBB with the RCH 90 shaft in it on the yard so I pulled it and tipped it slightly and put it in that R-9

This fall, I went back to my old R5. T-serial; I was told it used to be Mark Brooks'. Who knows; Mark probably can't recall when he actually had a contract with TM, much less which drivers he used. It's just a very solid head with nice weight and balance and a terrific-looking face angle. No great emotional attachment, and it was not expensive. Looking forward to my next five drivers this year.

I play a Ping G10 driver. I know where its going and that makes up for the 10 yards I might gain with newer stuff. I will probably be booted off of GolfWRX but I have never used a trackman.
LOL if you get booted then I will be right out the door behind you because I have never used Trackman either :taunt:

Hardy Har Har. I'm following you guys out. No Trackman here either. To many numbers, confuses the mind. See the ball, hit the ball, find the ball, repeat.

Oh yeah, use a 983K with GD YS6 for the old(er) driver. Have become a better driver of the ball using it. Sidelining the 460cc. Not quite as long, but find more fairways.

For ancient, fair number of wood ones to choose from when I get the vintage urge. For really ancient, looking forward to hitting the hickory shafted Brassie (undergoing a resto) a bit next season. Don't think Trackman has a setting to compute the numbers for that one.
That YS6 was one heck of a shaft especially with the 983K. I had a Titleist 975VJS with an experimental UST HTD in it. I could hit it straight but lost too much distance in fact I could hit my persimmon Penna just as accurate and further.
BTW : Fella if we get booted on the Trackman thing at least we will be in good company with you out the door with us

I use 2 drivers, Titleist 913 D2 and a Cleveland launcher 460. The Cleveland is from 2002 and the Titleist is from 2013.
Both work equally as well as the other.

Played with a Maxfli A10 I picked up secondhand until this summer, I'm not sure what the year is but I think it's around 2003 or so? It's a great driver, but rather heavy by today's standards. I haven't gained any distance with modern drivers, but I do notice that I've gained a little consistency. I've been meaning to take the old one back out for a round, but the Jetspeed has been great lately and it's absolutely intoxicating. I'm sure the Maxfli is dirt cheap if you can find it, might be worth a shot.

I have a SLDR White head off the tour van that I still game. Would be hard pressed to find a driver that I hit any better. It's pretty funny when I hit it paired up with people I don't know they usually say "Wow that SLDR sounds different than mine" haha.

Happy New Year, everyone!

While not a driver, I built my swing on a TM Burner Super Steel 3 wood with a stock Bubble S-90 stiff shaft when dinosaurs still roamed. After a long hibernation, my wife convinced me to take up the game again, I pulled it out of storage and dusted it off early 2015.

After several range sessions, that old familiar hard piercing mid height baby draw was back. Back in the day, I've hit some of my longest drives with this club including driving a par 4 green @ 362 yds (an elevated tee and a 4-5 club tail wind may have helped a little, LOL! )

Funniest thing was when I took it on the course for the first time since dusting it off, I honestly thought it didn't stand a chance against the latest equipment. I got paired with some younger kids in their 20s gaming the latest Cobra and Callaway drivers. Almost felt embarrassed pulling it out on the 2nd hole, but that embarrassment quickly vanished, when it smoked the ball 20 yds past their drivers.

Afterwards, they were asking me what kind of hybrid I was hitting :haha:

Ping G2 ('08) and Adams 6088UL ('12). Painting and re-shafting the Ping this winter.
I was looking at Ping G2 heads online and thought about it how do you like it I've never actually hit one? But I love to G10 and head shape looked similar.
I bought the G2 head around three years ago on EBay. Hadn't owned a Ping driver since the TISI Tec back when I was gaming the i3's. I was never happy with the TISI Tec, which I felt was unforgiving on less than perfect strikes. I researched the G2 before purchasing. It was considered a sort of "breakthrough" driver for Ping, and had strong sales when introduced. Had a .350 Aldila NVS lying around that needed a home, so I bought the head.

The G2 kept me in the fairway and is forgiving on off-center hits, losing little distance. Ultimately, I felt the shaft was a little whippy, so I'm replacing it with another older shaft I have, an SK Fiber Lite Revolution I, which should feel a bit stiffer. Hoping I'll love it.

Id still be gaming an Ping Tisi tec driver if a friend hadn't snapped the shaft off putting it into his trunk.

I had it reshafted and it but was never the same.

I have had numerous drivers since until I found a used Callaway X2 hot with a Diamana 62 x5ct stiff shaft.

Straight and long like my old Ping.

Still gaming (on a rotating basis), R9 Superdeep TP, Cleveland Classic Tour, Nike VR Tour/Dymo SQ/Machspeed (Japanese)/VrS, HipTi 420, Callaway Optiforce 440/Diablo Edge Tour...

And I still have a laminated maple Wilson Whale with Firestick graphite that sees the occasional range ball as well.

Currently gaming a Titleist 905s with Graf blue tipped 3/4". It flat performs. I have hit it side by side with many of the newest and best heads and shafts out. Obviously not always an apples to apples comparison, but this combo gives me the best performance of anything I have ever tee off with. I'm 113-116 and it keeps my spin down and launch. Carries between 290-300 with big roll out (LM data). More than the distance though is the trajectory. Just perfect.

As my handle entails, I'm a former ball player and have always fought a really high and spinny flight, but no more. I can honestly say that I have nothing to look for anymore in the driver department. That's a big statement from a tinkerer and a club ho.

I game a Nike VR Tour. There have been 6 new Nike drivers since that model. I've tried most of them as well as most everything else and nothing has knocked it out.

Still trying with a VAPOR PRO......

TM 200 series 4wood.
I remember when these came out, fantastic clubs. A playing partner of mine bombed his TM 200 steel headed driver with stock regular shaft, when he didn't over power the shaft of course. But when he put a smooth move on it, he was out driving a group of long hitters with their titanium headed drivers and still keeping it in the short grass.

I almost bought the TM 200 3 wood to replace my Burner Super Steel, almost! :derisive:

My newest driver is a Callaway Diablo Octane 11.5° with the stock Project X 5.0 cut down to 45". I got it about 4 years ago from Rock Bottom Golf on clearout for <$90. I think they first came out in 2010. When it's in the bag I'm good for 80% fairways hit. If I miss, it isn't by much and the ball is still playable. Yardage is more than adequate. That's a tough combination to beat.

A couple of years ago I hit the Diablo against all the hot drivers at the time -- SLDR, Jetspeed, Bio Cell, Big Bertha, X2 Hot -- on a GC2 launch monitor. On best effort there might have been a 10 yd. pick up with the best of the lot -- Big Bertha -- but the consistency just wasn't there. It made no sense to drop $400 for a little more yardage once in a while when other parts of my game were costing me more strokes than getting off the tee in good shape.

FWIW, my best driving day this past season was using a Callaway Big Bertha Warbird from about 1995 with the stock RCH 90 shaft when playing a round with my vintage set. It was a cool and very windy fall day. The penetrating ballflight I get with that club was perfect in those conditions.

My problem is LOFT -- Lack of friggin' talent
