Did you ask Mizuno USA? My next try would be www.mizuno.jp
[/quote]

I did ask MizunoUSA. They couldn't authenticate a JDM serial the guy who responded to my email did not have any contact info for their Japan office.

I'll try the Mizuno.jp address. Thanks.

use a translator (chrome/google worked great)

I have been working off my phone and didn't have that option. Mizuno UK has been extremely helpful though and are checking the serial number with their Japan office for me.

That's quite bizarre.

Here's some pics. Clubs have matching serial numbers that appear to be lasered on (smooth to the touch) but also have "Assembled in Japan" etched into the shaft by the serial number. What does the group say?

Update:

So, in my quest to authenticate the Mp-55s I have seen the good, the bad and the amazing from Mizuno customer service.

The bad: As noted above, MizunoUSA was a complete disappointment. The representatives I interacted with on the phone and over email provided no information and were not even aware that Japanese assembled irons had the serial number on the shaft, not the head. The only useful bit of information provided was the email address for MuzunoUK's online orders.

The good: MizunoUK was very helpful in determining the authenticity of the irons although they did not verify the actual serial numbers with Japan. They were knowledgeable about the MP-55, even though they don't sell it in the UK, and provided enough support based on circumstantial evidence to warrant a "more likely than not" determination of the authenticity of the clubs. (Based on MizunoUK and the help of a fellow WRX'r I purchased the irons.)

The amazing: In my search for additional contacts within the company I came across the email address for Mizuno Europe based in Italy. Working with a fine gentleman by the name of Antonio, who spent weeks gathering information and corresponding with Japan, the clubs have finally been authenticated by Mizuno Japan. Antonio corresponded several times with me gathering information from the serial number and it's placement to the grip model and specs of each iron. He not only verified the serial number with Japan but also that the exact specifications I provided were all original to the factory build and assembly. People who are willing to go to this much work for someone outside of their own country, let alone sales area, are what I expect from a company with the reputation of Mizuno. He owns my greatest appreciation and respect for following through where others would not. Thanks!

I am going through a similar process! I bought a set of Mizuno mp64 heads off eBay from a “reputable” seller who is claiming that these heads do not have a serial number nor do any Mizuno irons. He sent me some listings where you cannot see the serial number.

my question is because these heads came from Japan, because they do not have a serial number does that mean that are not authentic? Or does japans mizunos do things differently than US?

I called Mizuno US and they told me to send the clubs in to verify but if they were counterfeit they would dispose of them. This stinks because now I can’t get them verified because they will throw them out and I can’t get a refund through eBay but also I want to know they are real

I have no luck in authenticating my MP30 irons. A little skeptical buying these on eBay for a nice price. Seller has many Mizuno iron sets in pristine condition with stock TT shafts and upgraded NS Pro 950GH shafts. Irons all look great and he has a 100% feedback with excellent looking sets. Hmmm...!

He goes under -

kiyo kobe japan and all appears legit. Any help would be helpful.

I came across some of his irons listed. They look to good at great prices.  Makes me skeptical. Anyone know if he is selling counterfeits?
