For what its worth I played the gorge eye 2 56 and 60 and like the Glide ES much better. I've played the 56, and 60 es at first, but wound up loving the 58 es. Don't discount these guys before you try them.

Let me say this, I'm a good bunker player so I had a great starting point. I put my xg L wedge in a couple of months ago and wow wow wow! This is hands down the best sand wedge I've ever played, it's like cheating. Like I said I never struggled out of the sand but now it's just silly easy. Not to great out of the fairway but I usually use my 56 off the fairway.

have you tried the gorge? I've heard they are just as easy with more spin.

i would think they have to be similar in spin. You guys make me want to throw a 60 back in the bag for bunker play. The WS glide is no slouch but the eye2 shape just plain works.

I know this is an old thread, but with the pandemic, I am going thru the garage and experimenting with old clubs.

Recently I found a Ping Eye 2 Gorge SW and LW.

Do most people put both wedges in their bag, or just pick one (for the sand)?

These Eye 2 wedges are undisputably great from the sand, but I wonder if they can be hit effectively from tight lies (where I usually play a 60 with low bounce).

Let the experts speak!

I think the LW are fairly easy to play from tight lies.  The leading edge on the LW sits very low to the ground.  The bounce number PING quotes is the effective bounce, which is mainly coming from the sole width.

I have an XG LW I use from time to time, and a pair of unhit Gorge SW + LW.  Unfortunately, I have these sitting around or I would probably get a new Glide 3.0 ES.

I have both a 56 and 60 Eye 2 Gorge wedge and agree with everything said here in that they are super easy to play from any bunker including tight wet or fluffy lies. I find the 56 allows me play all types of shots around the green including from thick rough and tight lies. I find the offset head facilitates this and I have it set a little flat which allows me set my hands low to open the face and play a flop type shot even from a tight lie. I recently bought the new Eye 2 Glide wedge but for the moment just cannot get the same feel from it so still using the Gorge.
