I have used Justin Thomas in this thread as an example of how flawed I believe the point system is. I can now use Justin Thomas as further example. Thomas moved up 20 spots from 45 to 25 based on a T-3 finish at the Honda. Blayne Barber moved up 71 spots based on a T-3 to 41st. Barber has played 10 events in 2016, missed 5 cuts and has one top 25...........yesterday!

There has to be a better system!?!?!

It's early. Look who was in the top-20 in years past at this point and you'll see some head scratchers. The US doesn't win or lose based on the points system.

Except if the point system puts some golfers in the Ryder Cup who shouldn't be there

Not true. The captain's picks have been more of a problem.

Just keep Bradley, Mahan and Simpson off the team and it has to be better

Mahan? Last shot I've seen Him Hit was on that stupid ace Hardware commercial. I think he's doing the work to keep him off the team all by himself. No committee necessary.

"Tiger looked great," Horschel told ESPN. "Looked in great shape. I saw him in the Bahamas at the Hero World Challenge and he was in rough shape, and he said that. Last night, he looked really good. He said he's excited to be progressing and, hopefully, he'll get back out here and kick our a**."

Everyone needs to chill about the points system. If Vaughn over the next six months does what he has done over the past 5 years, then he won't be on the team. If Justin Thomas keeps playing like he has over the past couple of years, he will be on the team. It is early in the points standings and a lot will change in the next few months.

This is like looking at the FedEx cup points after the first event of the wrap around season and thinking: "Dude, what is Grillo doing at the top of the FedEx Cup points? He has no right winning the Cup? What has he done in his career? Points system is flawed! No way a rookie should win it, Phil hasn't even had a chance to play."

The biggest issue is that Phil and the powers that be decided not to count the fall series events. Phil doesn't play the Fall events. Phil wants to make another team Ryder Cup team, therefore, screwing the winners of the Fall events out of Ryder Cup Points is necessary.

And I agree with a number of other posters that Justin Thomas not being invited is retarded.

Wonder why my boy JB wasn't there? I know he didn't play in the Honda, but being that he lives in FL I would have thought he would have made the trip. Probably had some other event(s) lined up that conflicted with the schedule. Would love to see him on the team again. He's been pretty solid in the one RC and one PC he's played in.

I'd take JB in any team event. His length is a big advantage, and he's a gamer.
