Dryjoys vs. Icons

Z. Johnson rocks the Dryjoys saddles, Always classy. I wear Dryjoys tour because they fit right out of the box, I thought icons were too stiff. Both are great shoes though.

Just a question re the Dryjoys - I was looking at buying a pair of them online. I'm normally a size US11. This is on the largish side for me but I have a wide foot, so I find the extra half size better for me. I tried on a pair of Contour Casuals size 11 the other day and they were huge! Seemed much larger than any other size 11 I've worn.

 

Just wondering if I can expect the Dryjoys to be similarly large because if that's the case, I'd be at least half a size smaller. Haven't been able to find any of these in store lately so haven't been able to try them on.

Contour Casuals are built on a different last and are known to be on the wider side. I wouldn't use those as a direct comparison to the DryJoys.

Thanks. Just thought FJs across the board may be on the larger side. Will probably need to try and find a pair to try on.

If you mostly wear shorts when you play, I think the DryJoys look better. And conversely, the Icons look super classy and (I think) they look best when paired with pants.

Icons all the way, you have to break em in but they are a much higher quality shoe compared to the dryjoys. It's the small details like the tounge being stiched in place .... Worth every extra dollar

I just received a pair of icons and they were huge. I typically wear an 11 in Nike running shoes and Adidas golf shoes. I was told to get a half size smaller and, even then, the 10.5 was too big.

 

To answer the OP's question, the icons are definitely a higher quality and classier looking shoe, in my opinion.

I vote dryjoy. I have had 2 pair of icons and they dont fit right, plus mine squeek for some reason.

I have 3 pairs of DryJoys and 1 pair of Icon Blacks. When I'm playing by myself or just practicing, which I do the majority of the time I'm in the DryJoys. If I'm going to a snooty club course with a group of people I'll wear the Icons. Mainly because when I'm out by myself I walk the course and the DryJoys are way more comfortable for that. If I'm in a cart I'll wear the Icons. Both great shoes so far, I would definitely try them on first as others have recommended.

I think the Icons are a much better shoes. I have a pair of dry joys and walking 18 almost always equals blisters where I could walk 36 in the icons with no problems

I go a full size smaller with Footjoys versus my Nike running shoes.

Does anyone have both the previous Icon models and the current Icon Black models? How does the size compare? I have previous Icons and they fit the same as Dryjoy Tours. Thanks.
