I'm gonna bet that a mod has "cleaned up" this particular thread more than once with a warning. Please just respect the other members here that have requested you follow the rules. To get back on subject I walked 9 in them and it was fine. Probably would't do well to walk 36 in a day but it's not as bad as some people may think.

Wow they are huge! I have 10s in the 3s and wear 9.5 in the actual 3s and these 10s are like clown shoes. I like the shoe too but 9.5 was sold out. Back to Nike you go. There's gonna be a nice restock soon I bet.

it was mentioned a few pages back that it seemed that no real thought went into creating a golf specific design for the 5s. like all they did was just screw golf spikes into the sole of the retro jordan 5 low and called it a day. even though i really like these, played 2 rounds already with them and haven't had any issues, i agree with the previous poster.

I got mine today, and I'm going to be returning them. They seem to fit fine, but they came with the inner box kind of crushed, and there's a gouge along the toe. And the squeaking is really bad -- I assume that would stop once broken in. Can anyone who has worn them for a round or two comment on whether the squeak has stopped or if you're still hearing it? That'll determine whether I try to get a new pair or just return them and call it a day. I like the look of them a lot, but the squeaking would be a dealbreaker, and I'm definitely not keeping this pair since they're damaged out of the box.

Wouldn't altering the design of a specific model shoe make it....ya know....a different shoe altogether? You all want more authentic retro models for golf but when they give you authentic retro models for golf you complain?

There are a lot of complaints but shouldn’t the golf shoe be comfortable to walk in for 18 holes?

I was on the fence about whether I really liked them or not but of course couldn't help myself and ordered them anyway. After seeing them in person and trying them on, I am not keeping them. As mentioned, they run much larger than some of the other models and my pair had a comically loud squeak anytime you thought about moving. It really is a shame as the XI's are so so good.

the 1s, 3s, 6s, 9s, 11s, and 13s are all good examples of retros altered to make them more appropriate for golf. i still consider those to be based on "authentic" retros.

Not complaining since I still like these 5s and will keep them in the rotation. was just agreeing that not much more thought was put into making it a golf shoe other than having spikes on the sole.

Did yours squeak a lot when you got them? If so, has the sound stopped now that you’ve played in them a couple times? I’m trying to figure out if I just return them and get my money back, or try to make an exchange for an undamaged pair.

mine didn't squeak. nike's return/refund policy is very generous so you have about 30 days to try them out to see if it goes away.

For those that have really bad squeaking, I am sure you did, but to double check, did you take the white paper out that is in top of the tongue? I couldn’t believe the squeak but found that paper hidden in between the tongue and lace area.

I returned my 5s as well, just couldn't imagine walking with that hard, flat bottom on them. They look great if you ride a cart mostly, you'll like these.

I love the 5’s but now have two pairs to return, don’t run TTS for me but now I know I need a 12.5! 3rd times the charm!

 

i also just grabbed a pair of the cool grey 11’s. Set for the summer!

My 5s just arrived. Toe box is roomy but true to size is close enough. Half size down would have surely worked.

not quite as comfy as the 11s but not bad. They look super clean

mine are also pretty squeaky. I’m sure it won’t bother me when I’m out there.

Do you have a cardboard piece on the top part of the tongue? Double check. That was the culprit for the squeak in mine.

My 5’s finally showed up from Nike yesterday. I love them. Easily the most “authentic” reproduction into a golf shoe. I think they are extremely comfy. Mine squeaked out of the box but once that little shiny paper around the tongue came out they are nice and quiet.

Im a 10.5 in every shoes but FJ. These fit fine. Typical one foot slightly larger than the other for me. Roomy too. I removed the little laces thing and laced them up to the top holes. Very stable.

Got mine yesterday and really like them. Was concerned on the squeaking based on comments in this thread but found that once the cardboard was out they don’t make any noise.

Got my 5’s in today. Super comfortable. Too roomy. I should have gotten a 13 instead of a 14 and these are the first J’s in a LONG time I can say that about. Crazy comfortable.

re:squeaking. WTF? How did you guys even get the shoe on without removing that cardboard piece? Shame.

re:lace lock They aren’t 5’s without the lace lock. Greatest thing ever besides BOA. Pull the lace lock tight then make a knot on top. Simple-fast-secure.

I don’t know if there can be a Jordan that is a more close reproduction of the actual shoe. Here are a couple pics next to my size 13 Dunks From Above.

In short, I love these 5’s. I hope the resell doesn’t go up too much before I get a chance to play them. I really want to keep them.
