ProV1x for a few reasons. For one, I can't find one that's noticeably better. Beyond that, the new ones are quite a bit more durable, I'm familiar with the way it performs, and a big reason I play Titleists is because of the simple graphics. Srixon is good that way too. I absolutely can't look down at a Callaway ball, that big logo is too busy. That's crazy for sure, but its real!

How about the Z-Star?

ProV1x from the looks to how it plays for me, I find it very forgiving.... The course opened up last weekend and my 2nd wedge shot I caught a little thin and when it hit the green pin high it only rolled out 8', a distance ball would have taken a bounce and gone right off the green... The wind was up both days and I was able to play knockdown shots with my irons that would check up... A golf ball won't fix a swing fault, proper instruction and practice will... I'm getting more distance from the time I've put in with lessons fixing my faults and power leaks, that coupled with a fitted shaft in my driver and having it adjusted to the proper loft, seeing more distance now than I've never seen switching balls...

I look for good feel - a touch on the firm side for me - especially in putting. And performance on good shots has to be consistent. Good distance with irons is important too. If I miss it poorly, doesn't matter what ball. I hate to see a good drive balloon in the air or a 100 yard approach roll out to 115. Predictable spin and roll around the greens. Don't care about price (I also don't need new sleeves every round). Right now the Snell My Your Ball fits me.

This year my strategy will be for a ball that rolls farther after hitting s green. My shots with the Duo and SuperSoft are biting too much for the greens I normally play. Trying the Rush or Pinnacle Gold.

wierd I'm gonna go from v1x to supersofts solely for the putting. Any reviews I've read for ss are for low spin into greens. Can't wait to master the supersofts as the putting just feels so buttery.

Snell My Tour Ball. Easily one of the best performing balls available right now. Even just as good if not better than a ProV. Then you factor in price is half of the ProV it's a no brainer.

Hey Guys,

I am curious to see why people are playing the ball they play, and what ball it is. I know everyone has multiple reasons but lets hear the #1 from anyone willing to chime in.

I play the Titleist ProV1 because of the beatufil feel/roll I get off of my putter face.

I play the Volvik S3 because of its consistency. I know exactly what the ball will do with each shot, provided I hit it correctly. I don't rip it off greens and it doesn't release to the back when not expected. I get plenty of short game spin and it is a low spin monster off the tee. I have not found a ball as good as this one! I would compare it to my beloved TP Red, it is that good!

9 out of 10 times it is a pro v1 or 1x (depends on conditions as to which one). I have played these both for quite awhile and am just used to how they perform. So the confidence is there. I am not opposed to other balls like like Callaway, Srixon, etc but if I am playing a round that matters I am hitting up my stock of pro v1's.

I play the Srixon Z Star in yellow. Either the base or XV model, doesn't really matter. I like both models and can spot the yellow quite a bit better.

But I think I'm going to play the Pro V1 this summer. We're expecting our first grandchild this summer and I've finally found something to personalize the balls with, along with the #13 on all of them.

If Srixon let you choose your number I'd go with them, but they have just the personalization.

that florescent yellow/green that srixon uses really stands out.. much better than the yellow offerings of other makers. I wish other balls had the color that the z star does.

I play the Callaway Chrome Soft '16 (still have 2 boxes of the 2015 version), just because it performs best for me, I have played V1X, XV, SR3, Tout Preferred X, just to mention a few...this golf ball, feels great, is long off the tee, spins just right with long irons, very stable in the wind, great spin with scoring clubs and the best is "for me" is the feel off the putter...

I play the Pro V because I played the Professional and that is what replaced it. It is really a confidence thing than anything else. I am sure that there are other premium balls that perform as well or better, but it is the confidence knowing that I can get what I need to out of the Pro V.

ProV1X

It does everything I want it to, and need it to. It fits my game perfectly and is uber consistent. It also feels good to me and my putting stroke is used to it. I only wish they made it in the Srixon Tour yellow, as I think that color is easier to see in the winter on dormant Bermuda.

Gamer soft because I score better with it. Last year I kept stats for 51 rounds that I played with this ball. I shot in the 60's 26 times. I tried it for cold weather and have kept it since. It is a surlyn cover so it won't spin on chips and pitches like tour balls. But it is longer for me off the tee (100 mph driver speed) and is very consistent, especially in the wind. It launches higher than urethane balls ( I haven't tried the duo yet) which I need since I hit it low. I am a +3 in my men's club with this ball. If it had titleist stamped on it everyone would try it.

TP Red LDP

After a thread got extremely big talking about this ball, I finally gave in and tried it. It really lived up to the hype for me. While most comment on the spin and feel, which are great, this thing is one of the longest balls off the tee for me. Not easy to find anymore, but I have a pretty good stash of them left. I think last year's TPX are nearly as good and could easily play them if I was out of the Reds.

yea great ball wish they still made it. On paper it reads just like the 2015 Wilson FG Tour. 4 Piece, 80 compression urethane cover. The tm has a better feel to it.

Playing blades with a driving range's solid concrete core Srixon yellows is a real hand-jarring experience on mishits and not much better from the sweet spot (sweet spot? what sweet spot!).

Fingers are still numb.
