I've played yellow Z-stars for the past several years because I was always able to pick up a few boxes cheap and I liked how they performed. Last year I tried out the Hex Chrome+ and really liked the way it played. For whatever reason I found it to be straighter off the tee and just as spinny around the greens. Even if it's just in my head that's fine with me as that's where many of my problems are.

I play the Pro V1X because I have a source that sells used balls (but only Pro V's) for $1 per ball. I'm able to go in and hand-picked the absolute best balls in mint condition with no scuffs, no markings, or no logos. And they call me when they get a new supply. I currently have 17 dozen.

If I didn't have this source, I would probably buy mint used Srixon ZStar XV's in yellow.

MG-C4 tour.

Because it feels just like a zstar to me and I can't justify the 50 bux a box for zstars to my wife when we need things repaired around the house.

Snell My Tour Ball. Easily one of the best performing balls available right now. Even just as good if not better than a ProV. Then you factor in price is half of the ProV it's a no brainer.

I am glad I am not the only Scientologist in this thread. These balls are great. But #1 is feel. Without a doubt they fell the best of any ball I tested. I was in the process of changing balls when these came out. I have been a convert ever since. Have never looked back. Whatever I find on the course other than my Snell's get hit at the range. For me, they are perfect

I usually play balls that I find. Titleist mostly, but all brands.

I find a ton of ProV1's. They spin too much off the driver for me (or they used to). I tend to play the balls that spin "less" off driver head, while maintaining good approach and greenside spin.

So I have about 200 balls that I won't use until my game gets better off the teebox.

Any 3 piece Urethane ball at $25 or less. I like the feel, spin and cost.

I currently have dozens of Maxfli U3/U4/U6, Wilson FG Tour, and Gamer Tour's. All purchased for $22.95 or less.

I'll start the season with a bag full of found balls before switching to the aforementioned balls.

Cobra F9 14.5*
Cobra 18.5*
Adams Super S Hybrids 22*, 25*

I play the Duo-U for almost every reason, but the feel is unsurpassed. Even on obvious misses it still feels like butter.

Made a change. Found some FG Tours on clearance and they are literally better than the Duo-U at everything including price. My local PGASS has about 20 dozen of them on clearance for 30 bucks a dozen.

In short, FG Tours feel is the best I have ever seen (or felt).

Generally play the B330 the most. I like the way it plays off the driver... Seems to fly pretty straight with pretty low spin.

It's unbelievable how few of times I have played a pro v1 or v1x. I can generally find the b330 or a zstar for ~$30-35 and thus always choose it over the titleist. The pro v might be better just haven't really ponied up to find out.

I use the nxt tour s. The ball has a softer feel which I like. Comes in yellow which helps me track the ball a little easier in the sky, and also can be found at a reasonable price.

I find it performs pretty solid all around. That's the main reason I play it

does it spin like a prov1 or chrome soft?

I would say technically neither. It doesn't have the soft urethane of those balls, yet I haven't found myself once wanting the ball to spin more. When I use tour balls, I have found that the spin on chips is inconsistent due to my lack of ability to control it. I could hit 10 pitches and probably 6 would check up short of the hole and the other 4 would take one bounce and skip past it. For me the NXT tour is somewhere in the middle with a little check on the first hit then maybe less than a yard of roll out.

FG tour is a good ball that's comparable to a ProV1 performance wise but much less durable.

Thanks, Flip4000. I am sure you are right. With my limited experience, I've had a few check up on me well short of the hole. With that said, I am just intrigued by the spin and will continue with the CS for a while.

I think its an issue a lot of people get when using tour balls. Some times you spin a chip to much, and some times you hit it and it skips by despite the chip feeling the same. I found the nxts react more predictably for me

Flip4000, By chance, does the NXT S's feel more like a firm tour ball or more like a low compression ball like the soft fli or inbetween? My dream ball would be if the gamersoft comes in yellow.
