Fubuki's - still relevant??

I tried the 70X in fairways but went back to the 80X.

K 70X in SLDR is stilla backup for me - power fade bombs.

Got an 80X J sitting around here but have never put it in a club.

Fubuki k and Fubuki J are great shafts. I think if more people tested them they would be in a lot more bags. It doesn't help that they were never a stock shaft.

I always thought they were somewhat similar to the ad di, high or mid/launch. But they are 1/3 of the price of you wait. I have no problem recommending them.

In my opinion, once a shaft gets into any OEM products, it will diminish its image. No body wants to pay extra for something that they can get for 'free' and not all of us understands that whatever the OEM put in their product, in most cases, are NOT the same as the after market ones.

But look how popular shafts like the Rogue and Diamana red/blue/white are. I guarantee you part of their popularity is because they are stock shafts. Their image wasn't diminished, it made them more popular from what I've seen.

I guess it is different in this part of the world. The Rogue never really took off here simply because people see it as a super expensive Aldila, a brand that is synonymous with cheap shafts in the past and OEM standard. Diamana, on the other hand, we do not have the S+ and D+ series simply because it is made for OEM. We only carry the R-series, W-series and B-series (later the BF-series). Same goes with Fubuki lines, we only have the K, J and V now. We don't even have AT, ZT and Ai.

From day one, they have mentioned that Diamana plus series and Fubuki AT, ZT and Ai are all made in Chine while R, BF, W, K, J and V are all made in Japan. With $100 difference, people over here tend to splurge and spend the difference for Japanese made as opposed to Chinese made. Regardless of the performance to his game...

Funny crowds... :)

I absolutely agree with you. Once a shaft is offered in an OEM driver as a no upcharge shaft, it's reputation is dead in the eyes of the high end consumer. I believe the shaft companies know this, and sacrifice some models and refuse to offer others for this very reason.

I used to play the Fubuki Tour when it first came out, and have gamed a Fubuki K and J at some point in time - loved them all. I wouldn't hesitate to get back into one, as I always thought they were great feeling and with some tipping, could be made to fit all types of swings.

Most shafts are still relevant....tour ad has been around for what 10 yrs......the original aldilla NV and graffloy pro launch blue are still used to this day......rogue is just a slight tweak on NV......diamana blueboard.....I don't think shafts get all that much better....certainly maintaining a consistent swing is by far the bigger issue....and if you can't do that than well, doubt slight alteration in shafts is gonna have much effect

I still have a fubuki in garage, good shaft....actually gonna throw it in a 5 wood here soon....

Any fubuki fans have a solid suggestion if I've gotten used to the "made for" 2014 zt60 s flex they made for callaway if I'm trying to upgrade to a better fubuki that plays similar? Here's the specs I found on it.... have that old thing in a 10.5 epic currently lol

No clue why that shaft feels good considering Im a slower "tempo" swinger of only about 98mph with the driver

Nothing wrong with the ZT, probably one of the best

"made for" shafts out there.

It actually performed quite well for me & I honestly could not fault it too much.

I opted to fit the Fubuki Alpha & everything improved slightly, launched a little lower, spun a little less & has a tighter dispersion, all equalling more distance.

You will not go wrong with either the A or K, the K will launch slightly higher than the A but spin less & for me it is the best shaft I've played.

I'm planning on throwing a Fubuki Tour 73 in my m1 440 next week. Can't wait to see the launch, I think it will be a great fit.

In my opinion, it doesn't really matter what shaft you play as long as it gives you the consistency, dispersion, distance and the feel that makes you comfortable. It could be a $10 shaft, it could be a a made-for shaft, or it could be that $1,800 a pop from Seven Dreamers, as long as it performs for your swing/game.

I always stress the importance of going to a good, qualified club fitter and get fitted instead of playing your own doctor and guessing games here. We can only tell you so much based on the data/information that you give us here, on this site...

I might have to re-check and confirm on this one, but I do not feel the new Fubuki V is as counter balanced as its predecessor...

My long time standard shafts were Fubuki K 70X in driver and 80X in fairways. Exciting to hear of a new Fubuki version and I'll try the V for sure.

Fubuki K just has a great feel and performs for me.

The only other shafts I really like are the Aldila Tour Blue 90X, in a hybrid I acquired thru tour player Matt Jones' caddie, and the Aldila RIP Tour graphite iron shafts.

Soon will try Mitsubishi Tensei Orange V2 in both 60TX and 70TX - waiting on Callaway SubZero head.

Alpha 70X in my i20 driver still the best driver I ever owned. Until the face cracked :( Got another one but tipped it too much. The counter balance on Fubukis only work for some. Tried J and K and never suited my swing.

I find it so hard to believe the Fubuki he's playing is the best shaft for Phil, or if it is, could you imagine how far off line he would actually be hitting driver?? He's a gear head so you would assume he's tested 100's of shafts. So yeah, maybe he's just a fore left/right type of driver.

My understanding is that the Fubuki Z & ZT shafts aren't "made for" Callaway shafts specifically. These shafts were made for OEM's in general and the main difference is that they aren't made in Japan, but elsewhere. But that doesn't mean that they aren't quality shafts. They are indeed. In fact the ZT has a radial consistency of 99.4% for example and can be installed in any orientation. A good place to look for information on shaft specs is www.golfshaftreviews.info
