Tee times more spread out, no touching flag stick or rakes, pay before your time etc. Looks like some places still offering carts. Wonder how thats gonna work at places like Crystal Springs

So walkable courses for Crystal Springs, Ballyowen, Wild Turkey, Cascades. Maybe Black Bear? No way the home course is walkable

Two players every 16 minutes is tough. Not many golfers can get out at that rate in a day. Wonder how many public courses open with such limited capacity (limited revenue)

It’s easy, eliminate staff, pay online, check in online, keep a starter in place until you get an electronic starter that scans your phone to let you tee off.

Not ignorant. Realistic. If the course can’t make enough money to sustain a full set of staff, then it has to choose what makes the most economic sense. It can open with a skeleton staff or it can remain closed. Not like there’s a $500b bailout for golf courses coming. It’s math. Simple.

Anyone know if any courses in north jersey are taking tee times yet besides skyway?

Only other course I see as of this morning is Old Orchard but that is more south in Eatontown. Course was a shit hole a few years ago and they are looking for $70 a round so we are going to be seeing some initial price gouging from the golf courses as well. I am going to be monitoring Somerset and Monmouth counties throughout the day to see if they get released so I can snag one for my wife and I for Sunday.

I moved to Monmouth recently. Just found this on their site under tee times. Will be setting my alarm for tonight.

We are working with our tee time vendor to adopt the Governor's guidelines listed in his executive order. We hope to be able to offer tee times for Saturday by 8:00 pm tonight. As per the Governor's order, tee times will be limited to 16 minute intervals and a maximum 2 golfers per tee time. We appreciate your patience. (updated 4/30/20)

Walkable, yes, but I would argue that almost no course in the CS Family is an easy walk by any means.

Monmouth county tee times went fast. Hominy within 2 min, maybe less. Charleston was slightly easier, maybe 5 minutes. I kind of like that it’s only 2 day advance times, won’t have as many players squatting on times just in case.

The "easy" walk is Ballyowen.

 

However at 12:30 PM yesterday, they revised it to being able to usecars. 1 person per cart, unless from same household or your gf/bf

And damn those tee times went quickly. But that's to be expected. You cut down the traffic by a lot. In one hour on a busy day you can get 30 golfers out. With the restrictions in place, at most it's only 8.

Anybody in Somerset county? I tried to call all the courses yesterday and nobody picked up. Also, seemed like nothing up on Golfnow either.,

Ended up booking a twilight round for Sunday at Colts Neck. Will be good to get out again.

Colts Neck cancelled through GolfNow. Booked Mattawang for an early morning tee time instead on Sunday.

Booked Rock Spring for next Friday as they have advanced tee times up.

I'm on for Mercer Oaks (East) Saturday with my husband. Same restrictions as Monmouth County (twosomes only, 16 minutes apart). No rakes. No drinking water provided. No access to clubhouse. Paid online in advance. They basically said "don't come early and hang out, show up, play, and leave". They were restricting reservations to County members only, initially.
