Gerina seems to learn from every event she threatens at. A rare gift. This may be her weekend. As Judy said, when the conditions arise, you have to put some distance between you and the field. Easier said than done, but a great way to play it forward.

Very nice to see the time with Kathy Whitworth, truly one of the giants in the womens game.

Regarding Danielle Kang. I'm definitely a fan, she is a blast to follow out there, very real lady. Great sense of humor. Remember that when she turned pro, she made some very bold predictions that have yet to come true. Nobody, especially in the locker room, forgets these things. But life has also thrown some difficulty at her. The long and ultimately terminal illness of her father was a very trying time for her and her family. She may be one of those players that once they get that first win, everything changes. Danielle strikes me as one of those.

Nice to see Mi Jung back up there, go MJ.

This is out of character, but I'm actually starting to feel sorry for fans of the American Princess train. There is a huge turnover coming in the next few years and a suitable number of replacements are not in sight. The LPGA is becoming more and more merit-based week to week, as it should be. What a difference from the assumptions of even three years ago. Lewis, Creamer, Korda, Salas, Lincicome, Wie all have years left in their careers on the age timeline, but not in the performance timeline the way things are going. A lot of weight for Lexi and Gerina.

Judy Rankin had a lot to say about Wiesy on Friday after her MC. Wiesy would be wise to sit down with Judy and try to find some passion for the game. It doesn't seem as though she really likes playing golf much any more and is just going through the motions. Maybe it's parental influence or sponsor pressure but she needs to find some enjoyment playing a game for a living.

I'd love to see Gerina pick up her first win, but she really let the field back into the tournament. She should have had at least 2 birdies on the back nine. Another round of 18/18 GIRs. That's pretty sweet.

Very nice play by the amateurs. I wouldn't be surprised to see Knight turn pro before completing 4 years at Alabama. She looks to have a solid game.

As Judy said, if she could have gotten a few more birdies, she could have probably parred her way in tomorrow. Now she has to go out and play and put birdies on the card. There's a good chance if she doesn't, she's going to get caught. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one pulling for her.

not sure I'd put korda & salas in there (altho neither have done much lately), but yeah, the lewis/creamer/lincicome/wie ships seems to be taking on water, if not listing

I think we all know how you feel when you play bad golf, it's very tiring! Imagine how Michelle feels playing bad golf with a bunch of teenagers who are making her look like an amateur.

What's got into you man. You can't teach passion! We can have these same conversations about any player currently floundering near the bottom of the money list. What makes Michelle such a special snowflake? Just rhetorical questions btw Dave, not trying to badger you. Anyone who loses passion will eventually have to walk away. Emotionally we as fans have to let go as well. Skills can be coached, I doubt that passion can. Not that I can see her walking away that easy, she is a very dutiful daughter. She does seem to work hard at her job, I will give her that. IMO her best hope is to find some new system that gives her confidence, get herself back in the top half of the money list, make cuts, play weekends and keep on repping Nike (which seems to be her real calling in life).

I saw MW a few times at the swinging skirts last week, I followed NYC every round, so I could stay away from MW's crowd/media onslaught

first encounter, i noticed was her parents practically knocking people over trying to keep up with her as she walked from putting green to range

second, after she had finished a putting drill putting thru horseshoe shaped wires, standing by her bag holding them in the air (looking annoyed he took so long) waiting for her dad to come by and take them

leaving the event after NYC finished, I was walking to my car through a grocery store parking lot, I noticed MW reading her phone on the passenger car side of her vehicle as I walked passed, her mother giving me the evil eye from the drivers side

last, as MW was playing the 18th hole on friday, chipping up to the green, her father was standing in the grandstand next to me perpendicular to the line of the shot toward the hole, as she lined up her putt a few minutes later, her father had run over to the opposite grand stand, looking directly down the line of the putt from the hole toward MW, framing the shot

i felt bad for her....

I got the evil eye from Bo one time as well. I was on the same flight as Michelle and Beatriz Recari flying in to Guadalajara for Lorena's event. At that time the guadalajara airport had few gates so sometimes yo had to deplane and board a bus that would take you to the customs area. I was toward the back of the plane and Bo had a louis vuitton bag in a seat. There were like 5 people needing seats and 4 left so the driver asked Bo to move her bag so I could sit and she shot me a nasty look. It wasnt even my fault.

Fortunately I ended up across from Beatriz. She recently had won first event and I said congratulations on the victory a few weeks ago and she said you know who I am? She was pleasant and we talked all the way through the customs line. In that case her caddie/boyfriend was the one shooting me nasty looks but I didn't care.

Gerina had her chances but played very flat. I'm disappointed, but her day will come.

I too would like some insight to Jenny...

I was out there today. Gerina seemed like she was trying too hard to win it for the hometown DFW fans. She is going to break through. She is even prettier in person than on television....and her up-tops are even bigger and more spectacular live and in color.

I live in Dallas and everyone said she was GREAT with the fans all week. I'm pulling for her. She will win this year.

Married to Callaway Clubs but I cheat with Nike Clubs on occasion.

I'm not a Wiesy stalker but have followed her career and also see her in social media on occasion. Her life outside the course, based on what she posts, seems to be active, fun and she's truly enjoying life. Inside the ropes is where it seems to be falling apart. Undoubtedly the pressure from her Dad isn't helping and some of the Leadbetter comments last week seemed to indicate there's not a lot of positive things going on. It seems as though she's trying to make people happy with her golf game when in reality, she needs to be happy. Sometimes you just need to go live your own life and get away from the parents.

Hard luck Gerina, but congrats to Jenny. Such a little cutie too!

Too bad she is as ugly as they come on the inside. She's not a very nice person.

That's bit harsh, unless you have something to back it up with..

I like Jenny, she's not the typical Korean golfer.. She doesn't smile after every hole. I think she is very competitive person with confidence in her game. She was able to beat heavy hitters today.

With that being said.. I do wish Gerina would have won today, it would have been a big boost for LPGA in US. I loved her in Solheim cup, she is very likable person.

One time at an event, tournament staff, players and caddies all had to ride tournament transportation from the main hotel to the course. One day Jenny Shin's caddie arrived a little late and did not get on there was no more room. Jenny became irate with on of the volunteers and started screaming at her and saying this van should be for players and caddies and not random people like thrm. You should get them off and she pointed to a few staffers. Do you understand that? She yelled at the volunteer. I offered to get off but someone from the LPGA said don't you're not random. Eventually a couple of people were asked to get off.

She threw a couple of other tantrums that week related to controlling people chasing after her for autographs and lockerroom attendants. From what I've witnessed only Kerr gas behaved worse.
