Picked up a Legal Limit putter today. This putter takes advantage of the 10 degree lie angel. It was so easy to repeat a pendulum stroke. Look into it......

I am like other other GolfWRXers always looking for something new an innovative and may have found it.

80* lie angle???

Ping driver
Taylormade fairways
Adams irons
Vokey and CG wedges
Yes! putter
W/S and Vice balls
Nike shoes

This is what they have according to their website.

According to rule book of the United States Golf Association, Appendix II - Design of Clubs, a legal putter "must diverge from the vertical by at least 10 degrees". This is one of the reasons the long putter was very popular. PGA Tour Pro, Steve Stricker, lifts the heal off the ground to make his putter more upright. Why not take advantage of our new putting revelation? Get your eyes over the ball and make more putts. Putts account for almost one third of your score. You may be ready for a change. LLP Design Aspects Our putter design offers a 10° degree lie angle, is face balanced, and center shafted. You have a Choice of custom grip, optional counter weighting. The LLP is heal to toe balanced, and has 4 degrees of loft. The Legal Limit putter complies with club requirements for PGA and amateur tournament play. http://www.usga.org

Ten degrees off vertical would be 80*, +/-8* upright.

  • 4 years later...

Bringing back an old thread....... I discovered/ordered the Legal Limit Putter back in August. I've had trouble with my putting for the past 3-4 years. Tried anything and everything. This putter has brought my stroke and confidence back. The 80* lie angle gets my eyes over the ball and a shoulder rock is easy with this setup. If you spot one, give it a roll!

Want to put an 80* lie angle and your eyes over the ball to work in a MUCH easier way?  Face the hole and putt side saddle.  Binocular vision, exactly the way you lined the putt up, top hand is a fulcrum, and you roll the ball with one hand the way you would be rolling the ball if there was no club involved.

This wouldn't be the right putter for side saddle; it's too short, too light, and has too much loft.  What the putter and the "method" is, really, is, like the broomstick, a half step toward side saddle anyway.
