Bridgestone j15 CB irons

I miss my J15 CB irons that I had. I thought I wouldn't since I bent my J40 irons to the lofts of the J15 and my J40's were already the standard length of the J15 but I miss the simple look and beauty of the clubs. Just had an opportunity to pick up a set of z745 irons so I will see how those match up against the bstones. Comparing the z745 to the J40 they are as similar as can be. And we all know they are forged by endo anyway.

I've had them for just about two years now and they are still great irons. I don't get to play/practice as much as I'd like (barely at all these days), but they still fit in great between "player's" and "game improvement" clubs when I do get out, and they look great in the bag.

I highly doubt my index would drop if I swapped them for anything else (I'd probably lean toward Srixon Z765, but same goes for PXG or the new Epic irons), and that's the real test for me.

Can anyone comment on the J15CB loft progressions? Also, the shaft stickers and length are not progressively 1/2" throughout the set, strange.

Loft changes "progressively" from Pw-3. PW starts at 46 with 5* increments for PW/9/8, 4* increments for 7/6, then 3* from 6/5 and then 2.5 from 5/4/3. The length is 1/2 inch progression with the exception of the PW with is only 1/4in shorter than the 9i.

Its strange progression but I have not found any weird distances with my set as they match up really well. Even tho the lofts at the top end of the bag dont differ much i have found my gappings are still gapped appropriately.

Hope that helps. Love these dang clubs.

Why didn't you like the DG Pro shafts? I use DG S300. I'd like to hear some feedback. Thx. I have a new set of J15 CB still in plastic, afraid to use them

Everyone is different. I have played the DG Pro shaft in a set of Nike Vapor Pro Combos and they are excellent, IMO. Design really helps launch the long irons yet also gives you the weight you need in the scoring irons.

Hit some of my best 4 and 5 iron shots ever with the DG Pro.

I like it a lot more than the AWT shafts. DG Pro just feels more substantial and powerful. In stiff it is essentially a slightly lighter S300 in the scoring irons and a modified version of it as you get into the mid and long irons to boost launch. I think the lightest one is 118g which is still a mid-weight but less than the 128g s300.

It does not feel much different than a DG s300 to me, except it is easier to elevate the long irons.

I am very late to the party, but just picked up a set today off ebay. They are much softer than my z765s and they cut through the turf much better than the v-sole. I had some 4 irons off the deck at the range tonight which actually made me chuckle out loud.

Wow. Better than the v-sole is high praise indeed. That is impressive. The J15 CB is a low-bounce club too. I have found that I tend to almost prefer irons with less bounce from the fairway, even when it is wet. A lot of Mizunos are low bounce and I always like their turf interaction too. (MP59 and MP64 are the two I have gamed.) In the rough a little more bounce can help.

But you're not supposed to go in the rough.

I put some project x lz in mine and tge feedback is excellent. Prefer this shaft versus tge ctaper lite i had before.

I'm doing this very thing. Can I ask what length you're at with these, and what is the swing weight? Thanks!!

my clubfitter build them at 37.75 in my 5 iron. D2 from the 4 iron to the 8 iron. D4 9 iron to pw. D6 for 52 and 58.

Bridgestone makes quality clubs but they are impossible to find in the store! I have the j15df and couldn't be happier. Bought them on a whim from the buy/sell forum and they are great. More forgiving than my mp59's but almost as workable and much more consistent, especially on thin shots. I'd try out woods, hybrids and wedges if I could hit them somewhere.

I just purchased a set of j015 heads off of the bst. First time I buy irons without hitting them. I've had my eye on the j15 cb for a while now and just could not pass up the opportunity. Playing mp 15's now, so we shall see how they compare.

I almost bought those J015 heads! Fantastic irons that look almost identical to the new Tour B X CB and will play similar to the J15 CB which is a phenomenal iron.

Yeah, I'm anxious to see how they perform. Once they come in I will have the 7 iron shafted and do a side by side with my mp's. That should be fun! Loser goes on the block...

Beautiful clubs, but it still baffles me they got all the love and j15 DF got very little. To me, the DF is a sleeper.

hated the DF. i couldn't get past the sound they made when hit.

I played my first round with the J15CBs yesterday. All I can say is wow. I needed to drop down to a lighter shaft in my irons, so I decided that I might as well replace my 712 AP2 irons. Nothing that I hit in the golf shops jumped out at me until a guy handed me a J40CB to hit. His demo srixon iron was out, but he said this would be close. It was so sweet and my mind went back to last summer on a golf trip when I hit a J15CB at a PGA Superstore. I had forgotten that how good bridgestones felt. After three days of searching, I found a brand new set on eBay with close enough shaft specs that I needed.

It has been so wet here, yesterday was the first day I could play this week. Went straight to the first tee with no range time and didn't know what to expect. I actually just laughed after numerous shots because they felt so good.
