Ping iBlade irons: shot at the 2016 Players Championship (In-hand pics of Louis Oosthuizen's irons a

Recommended Posts

Can you order irons from PING without any paint fill? I think I remember reading on here that someone had a set of iE's with no paint fill ordered from PING.

No paint fill on these would make them look even better imo.

Aceton

Yeah, that's what I was thinking after someone replied that is was $13.75 per club for no paint fill. There isn't much paint fill on these clubs so doing it yourself wouldn't take much time.

If they put PING or Pingman there, I wouldn't even mess with it.

$13 isn't bad when you consider their higher end anomaly doesn't offer that level of customization even with the 50+% price increase.

I agree, $13 isn't a bad price. Ping is great to work with for customization options. You can send in a club and have a lot of adjustments/customization done and its normally $13-$17 per club for everything.

In all honestly, I probably won't even mess with the paint fill if I buy them. I just like the look of it.

Can they stamp a pingman logo on as part of customization? That, and maybe the sick new "eye" logo we are seeing on the new prototype putters.

or instead of the "iBlade" they put the new "eye" logo then the word Blade after that... Kinda like this crude Microsoft Paint creation, but better

Like what I see. But like many have said, it is completely dependent on the shaft options and Ping finally reducing their insane up-charge prices. I hope Ping finally becomes reasonable but I doubt it.

If I could get 4-P with any of the following: Nippon 125X / C-Taper S+ / PX LZ 6.5 for an upcharge of +$20-25 per club, I would strongly consider.

BQ, the C-Taper in "S+" is definitely available... the other two, not so much... if I'm to place a bet, the iBlade will be $125 a stick (I mean they're just Glide 'irons', same 431 steel, same finish, but TT DG will be stock) and I'll check upcharges on C-Taper for you... edit 5/14: $40 (example is at the moment for I irons)

I've been seriously looking at building a Ping bag with the iBlades if/when they come out, buying Glide wedges to try soon. If I want a shaft that they don't offer as a custom option is it just not available at all, as in they won't evn order it or I can't send them a set of shafts to install when I order my clubs? Also, I play weak lofts 23* 3 iron, 49 PW in my irons now, what is the loft adjustability range for Ping irons?

See, you could do that with PING in the back, and then the "eye" logo using the color dot as the pupil on the hosel...

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Yes. New clean lines + throwback to the original Eye irons.

Not that I won't have a set coming anyway, but still - how cool would that have been?!?!

The New iBlades will be made out of 431 SS, like the Glide wedges and Ping i e irons. They decided not to use plating anymore.

I need to retract this statement, as I found out that the Glide wedges are indeed chrome plated. I was told by Ping that they were not plated. Sorry guys.

But, I do like the New Blades, and would look sharp with the Glide wedges in the bag.

A few years back Ping WRX was agreeable to ordering a specific graphite driver shaft (Nippon) which was not within their current custom shaft catalog.

My guess is that if you contact an authorized Ping retailer they will be able to place an order for you for the new iblades, including the shaft you want, even if that shaft is not listed as a custom order option. This is especially likely if Ping already does some business with that particular shaft manufacturer.

As for you sending in some shafts to Ping , I am thinking it's a no.

Realistically, you're better to just make the jump to 4-P, and add a 50. There's no word on the expected lofts yet, but 23 is the 4-iron in the ie1 set. 24 is the s55 4-iron. Clubs will be the same, but you'll just have to get the different iron numbers.

Man, I have always been a Ping "hater" I guess. Absolutely no reasoning behind it. Its honestly ridiculous because I have no reason. With that being said, these are beautiful and I will 100% be either buying a set unseen or demoing a set. They are just sexy.

I hate when I catch myself having a bias toward or against anything I have no reason to. Limits my horizons and holds me back.

I know. Me too. I did this with Nike until about 3 years ago. I was shocked about the performance. Hopefully this will be the same situation. I would love to bag these.

Since I posted that this morning, I've already been hunting on the bay for some S55s because they have been so well received here. They can act as my appetizer until these drop :)

While I was looking at this week's tournament pics, I realized now great the s55s look. Very clean, small cavity, but a bit of detail to set them apart (and serve some function as well apparently).

Then when I compare them to the new iBlades, I feel as though they're almost too plain. Maybe all they need is the Ping logo where the iBlade is and the iBlade text in the cavity? Or maybe the Eyemark logo somewhere?

Regardless, they look great and very clean. I'm sure they'll perform for lower handicap players.

Currently play g25 irons , and I'm smitten for the g25's but I haven't been excited for a ping blade since the s59 and I cannot wait for these. I play the glides and they're awesome. I will be waiting in line or back order or whatever it is. Hate dropping the $$$ but man these are hot!!!
