It's funny how long this is going on, I'll admit at first I was trying to make a point that golf is evolving and found it pretty comical how upset people were getting at how they think his clothes are bad for the game etc. Now after reading this it really is just sad, clothes are something we all wear obviously and something we all have different opinions on. Some want to wear wingtips and metal spikes, some wanna wear puma pants and colorful shoes. Either way we all love the game of golf and clothes are just not this important. It has gotten way bigger than the elastic around rory's ankles. I figured I would start this thread poke fun at the guys who didn't agree and we'd all just move on. As golf fans I say we just agree to disagree move on and all go buy the latest driver or putter.

 

Lets hope Sunday at the Players is as entertaining as this thread was.

Although I don't personally care for that particular look, I really don't care either.

 

But talk about them all you (you in general) you want.

 

What I'm alluding to is the trend of people coming into a thread, knowing full well what it was about when they opened it, to say what a waste of time the thread is. If I see a thread title that I think is unimportant or doesn't interest me, it's really quite simple, I don't open it. Because while I might not find it worthwhile, others do.

Of course it does.

Unfortunately I haven`t seen rounds 2 and 3, but on Thursday he looked uncomfortable, could have been the outfit (at least accountable for 50%).

It certainly does not hurt...but you can continue to dress like a tool if you want, your choice.

This thread was very entertaining. As I'm retired, I'm in the group that think the look is silly. That being said, when I was a teen we all used to wear skinny, high water pants. Mine were so tight I had to lay down to get anything out of my pocket. My dad and his buddies used to mock my clothes all the time.

 

My point is every generation has its own look that the older generation thought looked horrible. The difference is I didn't give a rats Word not allowed what the geezers thought about my clothes. It seems that the younger generation today gets all butt-hurt when anyone says anything that hurts their tender feelings.

 

Wear what you want, and if some old goat snorts at you, ignore him. Why do you care what he thinks? If you and your buddies think you look hip and mega-cool in them that should be enough.

Originally thought this was marketing by Puma and now Nike to showcase the shoes. Most weekend /amateur golfers wear shorts, seems like a reasonable way to display the shoes as they would look on your feet. I never realized it was an actual style. Now flares, there's a style.

I hate the pants personally, but I like Rickie and Rory so they can do whatever they want and I'll still pull for them.

I may be incorrect but I swear when I was watching the streaming coverage of the Masters on Sunday, Adam Scott was wearing joggers while he was playing with Hoffman. I don't have a screen shot but does anyone else remember this or maybe I was seeing something

Man I wish that were true. Bell bottoms are super cool. I would wear nothing else if they came back in the stores. I would look for a silk shirt one size too small (unbuttoned to show off a hairy chest and gold bling) and golf shoes with the flaps covering the laces to complete the outfit. Id be the coolest dude on the links.
