I plan to get fit at the end of the season, hopefully I can find a grove with my swing. I thought these clubs were geared towards lower handicapped players? I consistently shoot in the mid 80s with an occasional bad/good round of low 90/80. Everybody who posts raves about these clubs. Any other clubs comparable that you guys think I should check out?

I've been playing the CF16s for about three months. Love them. I've gone from a 13.7 index to a 12.4, mostly because of lessons, but the point is they have not "hurt" my game. I hit a high ball and don't like offset and feel a smaller head is better for getting out of thick bermuda rough, so GIs aren't really a help for me.

One of my regular group got his CF16s a month ago. He's a 4.8 index I think, so he's always been a blade guy. He absolutely loves his and has really been tearing up the course lately. Under par last two rounds. He's in his late sixties and loving the additional distance he's getting.

I'd have to agree with most of you. I tried all the major OEMs, and the CF16s were best performing iron for me.

The new Apex Pro look better (IMO) and were more consistent distance wise, but I'm not good enough for them as the extra forgiveness led me to the CF16. I would have gone with the black version if they were available when I got mine.

I got mine as combo set.

Can't be happier.

Went for a round without any range time.

And the course was most difficult one in area.

I shoot 81 with them.

Highly recommended.

just got back from a fitting..... I'm a 13 handicap but strike the irons pretty good. my issue is with my short game. I tested the ping g, 716 a1, apex cf16, xr, jpx 850, and the M2. hit 10 balls with each got it narrowed down to the g, cf16 and ap1. i went in completely unbiased and told the guy to just hand me a club. don't tell me what it is. at the end he told me shot after shot the cf16 out performed the other two. i was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the feel, looks and performance. i was using the xp95 and px 6.0. we got it down to the g and cf16 and my misses were better with tighter dispersion with the cf16 and px 6.0. ill be ordering a set to replace my g25's. i do want to go back and try the recoils though because i have read nothing but good things about them so i haven't ordered them yet.

How do the 990s compare to the 1100s in this head?

I have three rounds in with each set and honestly they play pretty close aside from the weight difference. 990s maybe launch a touch higher for ME. Both are equally smooth. Since I developed head rattles with th 990 set, they were set back to Callaway. When I get them back, they will probably go in storage as the backup set. I will probably appreciate the lighter shafts when I get a little older.

I just ordered a custom set and hopefully will have them in a couple weeks. They were ordered with the Project X LZ shafts. It is nice there was no upcharge for the premium shafts. It will be interesting to see how they compare to the the Diablo Forged (second best iron I have played) and the VRS Forged (best iron I have played). It will also be interesting to see how the LZ shaft compares to the PXi shaft that I have been hitting for the past three years.

I'm seeing some real flyers with them. Got 2 rounds, a 9 hole quick round, and several range sessions. I've airmailed 4 greens, hit a 7i into a hazard when I was trying to layup, and flew a 9i into another hazard trying to do the same. I cannot tolerate this. Cost me some serious strokes.

Are they fliers or are they strong lofted and your yardages are off now?

I noticed when I demoed them I was 10-15 yds longer with the 7i than with my current 7i. I'm going to have to redo my yardages when I get mine if these lofts are so strong.

I'm pretty sure lofts are 1* stronger than the 850 forged. I'm not sure what is going on....but I cannot live with it. An example of what I mean from above...the 9i into a hazard, I lasered a fairway post at 138. The small creek behind it at 145. Took a 9 since 125 is where I usually hit the 9. Hit it flush. Flush right into the hazard.

After 7 the irons loft are pretty dang strong.

The 4 iron is 21.5...that's 1.5 off the Ping I.E. 3 iron (20)

5 iron (24) is 1 degree weaker than the I.E. 4 (23)

6 iron (27) 1 degree weaker than the I.E. 5 iron.

So pretty strong, if you people are unaware.

7 iron (31) is one 1 degree stronger than the I.E. 7. (32)
