This looks way too hokey!!! Titleist to my knowledge never had a "j" model fairway... even checked the club archive section on titleist.com to see if I had forgotten something :drinks: If you look at the fairway's in the auction the paint looks pretty sloppy on the toe. I would steer clear! Unfortunately there are 14 bids...

Yea I won it, but I'm not going to pay if it doesn't look right... In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have bid on this at all.

 

What do you think about the 690s? Look legit?

I hear you on the fact that there is no J model listed at 14.5 or 18.5.

Pharminda, where did you get your 14.5* J?

 

With regards to the S wedge, the website (Archive) does list a W, which appears to be a gap, but in the current iron section, it doesn't list anything past a PW. There certainly appear to be some differences/discrepencies with the Titleist website.

Here are pics of the soles of the "drivers"... They're not bore-thru, but I know that Titleist made some non bore-thrus around then...

 

So what do you guys think about these pics? I'm noticing that the 975J isn't right-justified with Pro-Titanium as it is on the other 975 woods...

 

And what do you guys think about the irons? Look legit?

The irons are fake too.....look at the real ones on the Titleist website. The woods are 100% fake as well...no such thing as a 975J fairway.

You think so? Yes the irons are different on the website, but there are two different 690s, the 690.CBs and 690 CB (no .).

There are 2 facts here that individually would be very suspicious, at least.

 

- Titleist did not make a 975J fairway wood

- They did not make a 690CB (or 690.CB) Sand wedge

 

The only alternative explanation is that these are special custom jobs or Tour only clubs, both of which seem extremely unlikely. I think this is an open and shut case. If you wish to purse the legitimacy of these further, get the serial numbers, especially of the Sand wedge and get Titleist to verify them.

 

I also notice that no information about the actual shafts is given, just a copy and paste about the standard fitting. Finally the feedback policy is that the seller will only leave feedback for you when you have left positive feedback for him. Sounds very suspicious.

Just an update, I sent the seller a polite email stating why I am not going to pay for the auction. I also was nice and said I wasn't going to leave her bad feedback or go to ebay. While it is no excuse, she probably didn't have any idea that they were fakes...

 

I have not received a response from here.
