I am not a Tiger fan but I don't see the big deal here. He's 40, has had three back surgeries and didn't have a warmup. He didn't lay the sod over the ball, he just didn't hit them hard enough. Ain't rocket science, but it may resemble rocket science to some of the posters here.

They looked like decent swings to me. No warm-up, obviously very stiff. Sure, he could have blown one over and smiled for the cameras, but he took a chance trying to feather a few in there. Shows me he's confident and not self-conscious. Can't wait to see him in action!

Take it with a grain of salt but I saw something on Twitter about how it was a Veteran's closest-to-pin contest and a vet had stiffed it. In the past, Tiger had admitted to letting someone win the prize by intentionally botching his shot, so it's plausible this was semi-intentional as well.

 

Either way, lol at those so quick to hit the panic button or circlejerk to Tiger's "failure."
