Tour Edge Trilogy

 

I picked these up for a song 4 years ago and still can't find anything better. I liked the 3, 4 and 5 so much I've had an eBay search for a while for a 17* matching 2h. One popped up a couple weeks ago. It's longer and more accurate than any fairway wood I've ever tried. I'm a slower swinger with no business playing a 2h but it launches high and is very easy to hit.

 

Very solid hybrids.

Tour Edge released the XRail as a replacement. But I never found them as good as the Trilogy. The sound wasn't as hot and the graphics and finishes seemed cheaper like it was an afterthought.

Adams A4 Boxer 3,4. Keep wanting to replace them but can't find anything I like better. Love that square look

Adams XTD. It's the oldest club in my bag. I've tried to replace it (thinking newer must be better), but nothing comes close in terms of consistency and distance.

TaylorMade Rescue-Mid TP's - 14*, 16*, 19*, 22* - These heads paired with the stock Fuji Vista Pro 90 .335 tip shaft is still just as good as it gets!

 

I always appreciated how the well-thought-out design made 'sky marks' virtually impossible. That can happen easily with hybrids with crowns painted right up to the clubface. Using very shallow faced clubs from deep rough can cause that problem if you should happen to cut under the ball a bit trying to gouge it out, however, there is no worry of that happening with these because the black painted crown is moved back, away from the clubface.

I play the original Sonartec hybrid. Love it. It kicked the peanuts out of the bag.

Cleveland Mashie hybrid is the only hybrid line I have tried that actually produces high trajectory, soft landing shots.

I'm still gaming my Nike VRS 3 and 4 hybrid- very forgiving and the ball jumps of the face.....going back further I have a soft spot for the cobra baffler dws - those things were automatic with my bad beginner swing.

All of my hybrids are old by WRX standards. But I still play my Sonartec MD in 15* and 21*. Also my Adams A12pro in 16* and 20*. I've just recently put my really old 975F back into the rotation but I really prefer hybrids over FW.
