Lunch today, stir fry vegetables, wonton wrappers filled with a spicy pork mince, rice. Stir fry has a soy sauce, black bean and sweet chilli sauce mixed in after cooking.

I find it extremely difficult to understand cashiers who are wearing masks and are also behind plexiglass shields.  I always have to poke my head around the end (not always possible) to hear what they are saying.

 

Starbucks seems to be the worst.  I can repeat my name four times and they still don't get it right.  I've decided to go by Jack because that's what usually gets written on the cup.  Another option would be to wear one of those name tags that says:  Hello, my name is Scott!

 

While I always seem to pass a hearing test, I have struggled with my hearing for years.  White noise continually drowns out speech unless a person is well spoken.  So many younger people suffer from lazy diction.  I didn't realize how much I relied on lip reading to understand what people were saying until the mask regulations came into being.  🤨

@Fellaheen51your display of classic clubs has got me thinking that it has been probably 4 years since any of my small gathering has seen the light of day on a golf course or a range for that matter.  The woods and forged blades are all neatly packed up in shipping boxes since before the move and now occupy a remote corner in the utility room.

 

I do have a bag of clubs on the ready should I ever decide to brave it again in the form of my BeCu Eye 2 clones and a set of Big Bertha metal woods.  AS you say, at least they're in regular flex so that  makes for a somewhat realistic option.  But, as you say, solo rounds only to spare the embarrassment, although considering how I've been playing I doubt they could be much more of an embarrassment! 🙄

Played all three of those woods for quite a while. Used to have two drivers, 3-5, 7,9. Have driver and 4wd. left. Wish I had kept all of them. Heavy clubs though. Guess it's the metal thing.

I was on the lookout for a Divine Nine for the longest time.  It was rare to find one that wasn't in Ladies flex and they were always a ridiculous price due to the scarcity.

Today’s menu was Pork Chops, mash potatoes, green beans, and stewed apples(cinnamon and brown sugar) . Put the apples on the chops.

 We are riding out a tropical storm here so made a quick run to Costco this morning

   Dining on pizza, cheesecake and red wine !

    Hit a few balls in the net until rain was too heavy

     Now got my old Gibson SG and tube amp cranked and watching an old Aussie movie ( 40,000 Horsemen)

       BTW Costco  had lots of wedge sets, putters and golf balls- but I am happy with my Ram Tom Watson's, Eye 2 sand wedge and B61 putter-- Golf balls I find in the woods while walking the dog

Well Bubba keep your head down. trust me I know what it is like. When we have a storm coming it is tradition for us to play Reo Speedwagon "Riding the Storm Out" on the computer. Wish I was down there with you listening to you cranking that Gibson and tube amp which I assume is a Marshall. I don't read music or really play but I am a sound board man so I appreciate what I call the pure sound of vinyl and tube amps. BTW my favorite board of all time is an old Peavy 25. Right now I am running a somewhat modern Pro Sonus. At the other church I was at I ran a Beringer. I do not do the bar and concert scenes any more but run strictly Church events.

 

Man you would love my Frankenstein set up here at the house. I have 2 old 6 foot Techniques cabinets with a junkyard mix of speakers running off a 200 watt car amp. My old laptop was also a Frankenstein mix too. My bud works on computers had put it together it was a Dell with some Acer and HP internal parts. Blew it up in a blaze of glory one day cranking some Vanilla Fudge wide open. BTW love a Hammond organ too. But the old laptop blew up started smoking and fire flew out the sides and the screen looked like an 60s acid trip. We did buy a brand new HP and my wife forbids me to hook it up to my Frankenstein sound system

I have a divine 9 I found on the pile a while back. It is a Ladies version but looked never hit still had the stock cover. I have hit it some but hook the snot out of it. Had thought about changing shafts but honestly Cally bore thrus are a PITA and have never gotten one right that I have changed

LOL it sounded dammed odd Saturday night after the 9 and dine. One of our club owners was announcing up coming events as he stated "the week between The Masters and Thanksgiving". We are semi private and they are really pushing club events since the Canadians are not allowed down here by their Government I will point out. We had 75 players in the shootout Saturday when normally this time of the year we have a lot more.

Similar yesterday.  Pork loin in the Weber, smoked with Apple chips.  Diced redskins.  Swiss chard from the garden (grows until it snows).  Mrs. made apple cobbler for desert.  It was good.

Ha, Ha.  Blew it up playing Vanilla Fudge turned up to 11.  Brings to mind the old Heathkit amp I "built by numbers" way BITD.  Was spinning a disc (don't recall what) real loud through a pair of Utahs and the  thing started popping and crackling.  A big puff of smoke and it was history.  Poor soldering technique?  IDK.

I am not really big on tooting my own horn, but feel a bit more comfortable doing it in this thread. 

 

I really pushed myself last week with the walking. The weather was nice and I wanted to reach a few milestones:

 

Wanted to walk 75+ total miles for the week: walked 85

Wanted to average 10 miles per day: averaged 12

Wanted to exceed 2000 active minutes: 2125 (35 hours)

Wanted to exceed 300 active minutes per day average: 304 (5 hours)

Wanted to burn 4000+ calories per day: 4456 

 

Best day: 16.5 miles, 447 active minutes, 5577 calories burned.

I figured on pulling the shaft from my Speedblade 5 iron and installing that, but I might just try it as is.  It worked for Freddy Couples once upon a time so it might just work for me. 🤔

Nice! I think trying it as it is is a good idea. You may be surprised. Besides, it's just a letter on the shaft. I would play Hello Kitty pink shafts if they gave me the best results, lol.

You can play as is with the L shaft.  Sharpie the L to an A and play.  Or reshaft at some latter point with something else.  Options.  Anyhow, $19.00 for a NOS modernist 5H club (head) is a good deal.

Just checked the movie facts out and the lead actress in it, Betty Bryant, is still alive at 100!
