our water filter is under the kitchen basin, we have good quality water to the house and we still change the cartridge every year, it is always dirty.

We're seeing more and more pushback to various things as people are tired of restrictions on one hand versus those that are still living in abject fear of contracting the disease.  It's not good for society as a whole.  I'm finding people are more testy with far les consideration for their fellow man than in the beginning.  Isolating yourself from others has some nasty side effects that manifest in anti-social behavior.  It seems that many are struggling to deal with this hardship.  It's not just what you see on the news, it's present everywhere.

We here in my scandinavian home country didnt have all that restrictive quarantine. So my feeling is that most people here has not suffered so much as in neighboring countries where quarantine was stricter. Thats kind of good and bad. Just back from a  “neighbors pub”, we have a really good relation with our closest neighbors. Many discussions about corona. One grandfather passed away as the virus struck heavily in the institutions for the elderly. Many died here. But on the other hand, most of us had stories about people having possibilities to handle  jobs, studies and the daily life reasonably smooth. Not easy, this.

I understand both sides of the discussion, but, the general consensus of many western younger people is that the older citizens have had their time so if it kills them all off so what, I hope they still think that way when they actually grow up and it happens to them.

 

We are experiencing financial hardship as a nation and this could be relieved if the younger brigade acted with more common sense instead of claiming the virus does not exist or as young people it will not affect us.

 

from what I read your country men and ladies have more common sense and can be trusted to act in a responsible manner, thats all the world needs but unfortunately there are too many idiots around.

The hair is a result of sun bleaching.
 

The wrinkles are a result of scrunching up the eyes to follow the ball flight.

 

They will return to normal after a while not playing.

Good answer tol... Personally, that's what I went to college for, starting way back in the fall of 1970 (I know, far out) I had hopes of actually getting into tv news broadcasting way back then. Anyway, all that aside, honesty is hard to come by, and that is not a new revelation by any means. Billy Joel made a great song of it being such a lonely word. For me, I like Fox, however I like to listen to what they all have to say, and I am quite amused by their different takes on everything. This also falls true for the political scene for me. Frankly, in this great nation with it's great history, if you were to listen to the news coming out each day, and especially if you were from another country like you are Hank, or tol, I believe I would be thinking 'Dang America, is that the best you've got? We will be OK however, the news is a business, and I would suggest if you have the time to not try to think of any one news outlet as the pure truth, plus also know that the politicians don't aim their messages to the people anymore, they target their messages via the media. The media has become a very dominant force for sure and will continue to be.

Yes, its unfortunate that world wide the truth is no longer important. I would imagine you were disappointed in what you found after being interested in the media as a profession. I know during my working career as a manager I was disappointed in those who were in charge. 
 

One company I worked for the managers stopped all overtime and gave the excess work to a local small engineering company, then they, the managers worked weekends for that company producing the components that would have given their own staff overtime. It all came to a sticky end when a new managing director was giving a get to know me drinks party for managerial staff, the managers involved were standing around boasting about it when the new MD walked past and heard the conversation, he asked someone else what they were talking about and was so annoyed when he found out they were all dismissed on the spot during the drinks party. The overtime recommenced the next day.

Not at all disappointed as I got into quality assurance and became a manager myself, and that was my entire career for 45 years. I did get to use my voice for radio commercials and news intros and such on the side, so that was fun. But the quality side of it was much more interesting and I always recommend it as a career to young people. Quality Engineers are not necessarily a profession touted, as young person enters college. It's mostly 'Engineer', if they want to be an Engineer, electrical or manufacturing, and that's who we ended up drawing from which was fine. Then we taught them all about the quality side of things as well. However we found that college professors didn't really have the real life experience to teach them the type of problem solving, manufacturing statistics, customer relations, continual improvement, etc, tools necessary for a good quality engineer. That's quite understandable though, and we didn't mind as we wanted them to experience it all first hand and not from a book in a classroom previously anyhow...

Through my extensive engineering employ especially as a supervisor I had many encounters with quality engineers, and when I went back to work after breaking my elbow they put me with the quality department to give me a less physical rout to full time back at work. A very underrated part of the jig saw.

#1:  I had to mute the audio..the announcers were proclaiming DJ to be the next re-incarnation of Arnie. I thought they sounded like a bunch of

#2:  I really do not like giving folks a 10 shot lead over the bottom 5 of the field. just seems sorta like they just should call it a tournament,and award the big check

       to whoever wins..

sorry, but it just doesn't seem kosher that a guy wins 15 big ones and without being spotted 10 strokes,he would have finished

near tied for 3rd.  Seems like they have created a really silly system,just to keep the winner of the big check also being the winner of the little one.

Played this morning in my regular men's league tilt in the wind and the rain.  Actually the rain was earlier in the morning making for soft conditions.  Hit my irons well and made a few putts.  Once again a couple of tough holes sabotaged what could have been a very tidy round.  C'est la vie...

 

Fall weather is definitely in the air with temperatures cooling off noticeably particularly in the evening.  WE went out for dinner to a neighbour's on Sunday and it got quite cool sitting outside after 9 o'clock.

Its a common thing now with the look at me set, they think up some extremely silly things that must cost a fortune. This one is going to cost them as I read they are considering charging them for the rescue costs, that will be millions. There was also talk of those losing homes suing them.

Still can't quite come to grips with the temperatures that are being reported in California.  That is uninhabitable!  Meanwhile back here in Canada eh; snowfall is in the forecast for Saskatoon...  It's only 1700 miles to the north.  It's not like it's on another continent.  You can fly there for $628 with two stops in about 13 hours ?‍✈️✈️

 

I think I'll take the middle ground here in Niagara with temperatures this week in the 60's.  That's pretty cool for the second week of September!  Grape harvest should be underway shortly.??

That is why we live in SE Queensland, it has warm winters and reasonably hot summers. To the south they have the really cold weather, and the North is tropical with the extreme heat. We are classified as subtropical, paradise.

I suppose there are some similarities to where we live in a relative sense.  Anywhere that you can grow grapes successfully in Canada has moderate climate and is near water.  

 

There is a unique micro climate in this town as the escarpment narrows substantially resulting in severe weather going either side of us as it splits coming off the lake like a wedge in wood.  As a result we tend to be dry verusus the surrounding areas to the east or west which is a big plus in winter (less snow).  There is also a 6 degree differential between our lakeside community and the regional airport where the weather measurements are taken.  We'll be cooler in summer and warmer in winter.
