Ping Vault Putters

Is the general consensus that the PING Vault putters are firmer than the Sigma G line?

 

 

I wouldn't say much, but noticeable, especially when you get the Vault's stock grip changed

 

Thanks for this. How would you compare the PING vault

blades to the PING 1966 TR Anser in terms of feel and softness/firmness?

 

I have had both, still use the Voss Vault.

 

To me, the feel is smoother and more refined on the Vault. Milled v. Cast, which seems to make a difference to me. The TR milling is different also, but I cannot comment on how that might be affecting the feel.

 

Would you say that the Vault is closer feeling to the Sigma G line or the TR Anser 1966? I can't tell with the Vault because of the big superstroke-style stock grip kills all the fell. I know the Vault line has similar grooves to the Sigma G line but I know that the Vault is milled while the Sigma G putters have inserts.

I have rolled the Sigma G Anser with a midsize pp58 and I didn't think it was anything special. No one near me has a Vault with a midsize pp58 grip so I can't get a proper feel for it. I would be taking a $250 gamble to get a Vault just to see how it feels which rationally, I shouldn't do.

 

I have found the G line to be dependent on the model that I tried. Some had a soft, solid feel and others felt thin and "tinny."

 

That said, I would say the Vault more consistently favors the feel of the TR 1966 model, as both are solid heads.

I know feel is subjective but would you say that the TR 1966 is firmer or softer than the Vault blades when the stock grip is off?

I love the Anser TR 1966 but the urge to know how a Vault Anser or Voss would feel with a midsize PP58 grip is nearly becoming too much for me!

I got a used Vault Bergen in the mail yesterday. Looks fantastic, the grip is the PP62 and it feels great in the hands, I have not putted with it yet.

 

I didn't get a headcover :( Gotta search for one.

I really like how easy it is to find a flat lie putter aftermarket.

 

The machine work looks good.

What is the degree of toe hang on the PING Vault Arna? Is it the same 45 degrees as the Vault Voss and Anser 2?

If I remember correctly when I was looking at them, the Arna the same amount of toe hang as the Voss.

Is the toe hang of the PING Vault Arna 45* like most blades or is it closer to 30?* There is no Arna in my locality for me to look at and all PING told me was that it suits a slight arc stroke which doesn't really help me.

I had a love/hate relationship with my Voss over the 12 months I've had it. It's constantly been in and out my bag. Then I put a PP58 grip on it and the putter is so much better. I've suddenly got much better distance control and it feels great. I can see why other people have put a PP58 on theirs now and I'm not sure why Ping didn't offer this as an option when I got mine originally.

I know they have a WRX dept. but would something like that even be an option? Any idea of what the cost would be? I would really appreciate any advice you experts could give me.

I saw in the Ping putter thread someone had a TR B60 w/ zing neck. Almost anything is possible, for the right price....

Picked up a "mint" 34.5" Platnium Voss today at Golf Galaxy as an early Christmas present to myself. I've been eyeing one for a while and the price was just too good to pass up.

I have an offer to trade my Futura 6m for an Oslo slight arc and some cash, thinking if it's noticeably different from a face balanced mallet it would be worth giving it a shot. I am a little concerned about the number of posts Ive seen saying the Vault mallets don't have the best feel though, as that's something I'm hoping to improve on from my Scotty.

Been testing an Oslo slight arc for the past few weeks, and the results are fantastic. Never owned a mallet, but would like to have this one.
