For which major would you want the record number of victories?

Sorry....can't help myself here...

So...Nicklaus has 6 Green Jackets. Nicklaus, Hogan, Jones, and Willie Anderson share the top spot with 4 US Open wins. Vardon won 6 Opens, and who really cares about the PGA ([why is this even a thing..?] Jack and Walter Hagen with 5).

What record would you want to hold? This is tough for me. I want to win The Masters more than any major. But I'd want the US Open tournament record. For this question....I'd want 5 US Opens! But it's close. I'd love to have 7 Masters as well, but I choose the grit over class for this one.

What say you?!

It has to be The Open for me in top spot. The oldest and most prestigious in my book. I've been brought up with stories about The Open - the courses, the players, the weather. The best golf week of my life was being in St Andrews from Sunday to Sunday in 2000.

1 masters is enough to come back every year. I'll take the oldest and most prestigious, The Open Championship. US open and PGA are just meh.

Probably US Open....because it's played on different courses, all of which are always brutal. If you've won that tournament several times you are someone who excels at all parts of the game in a truly exceptional way

I think the US Open is the hardest tournament to win and the overall greatest test of all elements of your game. You have to have a lot of depth and dimension to your game. You don't just overpower a US Open course. I'd probably choose it, though there sure are a lot of reasons to pick the Open Championship and I fully understand those that do.

Why would that be? If 100 people are in the tournament, any tournament, your odds, of winning is the same regardless of the tournament.

Masters.

The US Open is just too tricked out for me, and I think too much luck involved in determining the winner.

This may be why The US Open might play tougher than its odds.

So you are saying that Tom Watson had the same chance of winning The Masters this year as Danny Willet? Maybe you should review what Mr. Watson said after his Friday round this past April.

7 Opens for me, hopefully one at the home of golf.

You can't have holes in your game. You've got to drive it straight. You've got to hit precise iron shots to spots on the green. You have to be able to hit recovery shots and you have to be able to putt. Take a great player like Seve Ballesteros who was masterful with his recovery and putting. He couldn't hit his driver straight enough to contend very often in the US Open. But that drawback didn't hurt him at Augusta or the Open Championship because the courses were a little more wide open. He could get away with his shortcomings at those venues but he couldn't get away with it at a US Open venue.
