Branden Grace is close and as someone stated already, he does well on firm and fast conditions.

Jason Day needs to go back to his trusted 3/4 FW. He has stated that he is not entirely settled with that new M2. Just my 2 cents.

Jordan Spieth. How can you not pick this kid? He has too much game.

DJ. Let's see if Oakmont has unleashed the beast.

As for Rory, I love this kid but he makes too many soft bogeys. He does not have a great short game and the putter has deserted him.

I'm going with Dustin Johnson and Lee Westwood.

I think Shane might do a McIlroy and win after blowing a big lead.

Greens not as fast and his short game is good on the links.

Also pulling for Westwood and Serge, however I already know they will play just good enough to get my hopes up and then come up short a stroke or two and I will be left feeling bummed for them yet again.

Kind of like my college football team. Snatching loss from the jaws of victory.

Never-mind, forget that, they can do it this time!!!

I think Day hits it too high to contend if the wind is blowing.

My heart wants Oosthuizen or Grace to take it.

Watson hit it high and so did jack and tiger. They did fine in the open. You just have to strike it well and play the wind.

As of today, the top 4 favorites are as follows: Jason Day / Jordan Spieth / Rory Mcllroy and 4th Dustin Johnson..........

Personally, I'm rooting for Westwood, just because of the way he handled himself with DJ on the final 9. Would also not be slighted if Sergio finally got the monkey off his back, but he better get that driver under control.........

I'd like to see Stenson grab The Open...After that, it would be a travesty if BOTH Sergio and Lee retire w/o a major.......Especially since the world is full of guys like Lawrie, Curtis, Micheel, etc, that didn't do squat, except win a major.....LOL

Disagree on the Lawrie front, won a good few tournaments on the European Tour, played on two Ryder Cup teams and has done a lot for Scottish golf by all accounts including hosting his own tournament on the European Tour. I wouldn't mind that as a career!

Please put any questions or comments here.

This week, the PGA Tour is at TPC San Antonio on the Oaks Course for the Valero Texas Open. GolfWRX was on-site Tuesday to catch a glimpse into the bags of some of the world’s top golfers.

The field of 144 is getting ready to battle starting Thursday for the $7.7 million purse, with $1.386 million going to the winner. The tournament is also the last event where players can qualify for The Masters, just like Canadian Corey Conners did last year.

We randomize all the number of posts and the #1 number on the top is the winner. Say there is 1,000 replies from members. We will randomize 1 to 1,000 using a website that has a randomizer. It scrambles the numbers and the #1 is the first place and the #2 is the second etc. If the winner has duplicate entries we count the first
