Does anybody know anything about these Mizuno DXR irons? There is literally nothing on the internet about them except a couple random sales. I picked up a set that is missing a nine iron and would love to complete the set for play. Any info or help is much appreciated. Thanks.

1960 Ben Hogan Power Thrust.

B y chance, picked up a half set of 2,4,6,8.  Looking for all or part of the 3,5,7,9,E.

The half set has the S flex True Temper PRO FIT shaft.  Look all original with numbered ferrules, original Hogan grips ( red lines in black rubber grips with reminder, and long at 11.5" ).

Cleaned up really nice.

The unusual thing is, the 8 iron measures 37", which is 1/2" longer than the newer irons and certainly longer than the rest of the 1960 models.

Wondering if Hogan made custom golf clubs for the general public or this was a custom set for professional golfer.

Always a sucker for the Ben Hogan irons.  Thought about playing these but, the grips are hard and need to be replaced before putting in play + inspecting the shaft to see if they're safe to go through the test of hitting golf balls through the turf.

Appreciate the reply, bbut I need the 1960 Power Thrust.  Have the 2,4,6,8 and if I could not fill the missing ones, will let them go to someone who could use the partial set to fill their missing clubs in the set.

And yes I know I lifted the photo from IronFinder but man finding pics of these is tough.  Are these particularly rare?

I think its a function of their age, and relatively short time frame/availability compared to the Golden Ram sets that followed.  So many seem to focus on the Golden Rams.

Nothing on Clubfinders.  Ironfinders only has a PW available.  Only seeing 1 listing on ebay for PW as well.  Nothing in the sold listings.  Will keep looking.

Does shaft matter?  I know of a thrift store that might have some from this set.

I would love to find a Wilson FG-17 SW to match the set I just purchased.  I had planned on tracking down some Cleveland 588 wedges to at least match the era but if someone had the SW, I'd be happy to buy a matching model.

Can you show a pic of the 1985 tour model?  There is a Titleist Tour Model 8 iron at one of the thrifts I go to occasionally.  It's a 25 min drive, but if it's a match, I don't mind grabbing it for you.

It has the “tour model” under the Titleist logo. Some of the other models have the tour model out closer to the toe. That would be amazing.

Thanks for the pic, unfortunately, it looks like the one there is closer to a 1979/1980 tour model blade.
